“Grateful for our time at Gloria’s”

We absolutely LOVED Gloria’s! It was such a cozy stay and it truly felt like home. With such a beautiful design and atmosphere, it was a peaceful oasis. Waking up to complimentary breakfast amongst all the plants was a joy. The proximity to the beach was unmatched. You can’t go wrong with White Beach and what made everything even easier was the free shuttle provided by Gloria’s. It helped us not only get to the beach, but to the main town to Alona! We are so thankful to have stayed here with such lovely people on staff who took care of us so well and we will miss our time here and hope to come back!

There are two separate sets of rooms, located a few minutes apart down the road, both of which are well appointed and well run. Our room was very clean (and I am fussy) and the bed was comfortable with two sets of pillows. The bathroom was very clean and the shower hot with good pressure. Nothing was too much for Justin and his team. They answered all our questions and went out their way to assist. We really appreciated Tita’s warmth and good cooking. She arranged for our washing to be done (150 pesos for a load, and it came back spotless, folded neatly and smelling amazing). It was my husbands birthday while we were there and everyone helped arrange a surprise for him. Justin arranged a fabulous mango cake which was delicious! There is water you can refill your bottles for free. We always take earplugs when travelling in Asia because of noise at night, and even though it was very quiet at night, there was one rooster that got his timings wrong, so we had to use the earplugs. Par for the course in Asia. There is a shop a stones throw away where you can get provisions of beer and bread rolls etc. There is also a local restaurant that serves the most amazing home cooked Filipino food and it is very cheap. We never paid more than $15AUD for a huge meal for two people including drinks. We had a scooter for getting around on but there are plenty of tuk tuks and other options for transport.

“Exceptional, faultless staff, and highly convenient for a solo traveller who does not ride a scooter”

Property was very cosy, akin to staying in a cabin with its own verandah in a mini complex of neighbours. Facilities all did the job. Some tiny insects crawling round but expected in this climate. Breakfast included which made up eggs cooked to your preferred method, a pancake/ bread, and stir fried veg and a choice of drink. Very thoughtfully, Hannah and the staff packaged me a lunch when breakfast was too early to stomach and I had to dash early. If you can though, I would recommend taking breakfast in the communal seating area since it is is such a tranquil setting and affords beautiful views of the flowers and palm trees. Justin, our host, was the best host you could possibly dream of. Accommodating to the nth degree, he laid out the extent to which him and his staff go to provide the utmost comfort and ultimate experience in Bohol. Providing free pick-up and drop-off within a 7-8km radius, this gem of a bonus was perfect for a female solo traveller like me. Since he was responsive and punctual at the drop of a hat, I felt relaxed enough to be out in the evening without fear of getting back to the hotel. His approach being personalised, meant that I got the recommendations tailored to what I wanted. His plethora of gastronomic wisdom was shared, local restaurants along with the busier spots. I only wish I made more use of this fantastic list. Justin is a very personable, kind, interesting and generous person too, which makes every car journey with him a fun one. The location was perfect for me. Out of the overstimulating Alona beach area but still within walking distance to the better beach in my opinion; White beach which continues as Dumulae beach meaning you avoid the crowds. Thank you Justin and co for this unique stay. Beats a characterless resort any day.

Amazing quiet location and amazing staff. They made laundry for us and we rented a scooter from the Inn. Also great Free private transportation within Panglao!

Justin is a fantastic host! The way he made us feel at home and helped us throughout our stay was truly amazing. The flat is small but cosy and equipped with everything you need, even a television with a Netflix account already set up.

Lovely well looked after place. Very clean and comfortable room with great hot shower. However it was the staff who went above and beyond with extra help relating to sickness and cancelled ferries which was greatly appreciated.
