Beautiful hotel with gorgeous gardens and pool and lovely views of the lake!

The gardens were stunning. The artwork was superb. The room was exceptional.

This place could be so wonderful. Great food, stunning gardens & views and a delightful pool and hot tub. However, the team are a huge part of what makes a hotel special and sadly this is where it’s let down. We read reviews about issues with staff before we booked but dismissed them as we thought they were written by guests who were perhaps rude to the team…we were wrong. With the exception of the waiters by the pool and a couple at breakfast we genuinely felt that we were putting them out. The reception team literally couldn’t be bothered and looked like they were put out when anyone approached. We had dinner 1 night and the waiters couldn’t wait to get rid of us. In the room it said it was open till 10 and bar till 11 but when they cleaned our plates (before 9.30) we were offered the bill and had to request the dessert menu and then at 9.45 they turned off the music and starting hoovering around us. The bar was also closed by this point. There was a big wedding on later in the week and it seemed like everyone was focused on getting ready for that with lots of loud construction taking place. The icing on the cake was after checking out we were approached and told that we needed to pay for a glass we had broken. We were told it was hotel policy but they could not find anywhere to show the policy. We paid it but it left a bitter taste as it was dealt with in the way that all the our interactions with reception occurred…dismissive.

The hotel is very beautiful and very well maintained in the exterior parts. Wonderful gardens and a nice pool. The food is great and the staff is welcoming. The hotel is located in a quiet and calm place which makes the stay experience more pleasant.

The hotel is really beautiful. The gardens are exquisite and the views over the lake are exceptional. My room was really pretty and comfortable with a terrace overlooking the gardens and lake. The restaurant was great too and not that expensive for a fancy hotel. There’s a nice pool area and you can use a tiny beach like area beside the lake too.

Hotel Atitlan is exactly how we expected it. The views and gardens are absolutely stunning. We also tried the restaurant in the evening, and it was very good. The decoration is beautiful everywhere. The staff is very attentive, they made our stay particularly enjoyable.

Location was superb. The staff were extremely obliging except when the hot water went off in our room and they simply didn’t seem to care.

Hotel atitlan exceeded expectations and has been our favourite Central American hotel so far in our trip. The hotel photos maybe make the rooms a bit dark and dated but in fact they were charming and characterful, and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the restaurant food was great (dinner and breakfast) and the restaurant location is beautiful. The grounds are stunning! If the national trust went tropical this is what you would get. Beautifully kept. The hotel is a little out of town ($4 tuk tuk) but that means you’re out of the bustle and noise of Pana. Gorgeous pool.

It was the most beautiful hotel, the gardens are truly magical. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, it was an expensive luxury to eat there. The staff were lovely and the room spacious and comfortable with beautiful balcony views
