Overview
Built in 1924, this historic Palo Alto hotel is just 1.6 km from Stanford University. Guests can enjoy dining at Bistro Maxine, located next door. A flat-screen TV and dark wood furniture are found in each bright, decorative room of the non-smoking Cardinal Hotel. A work desk and an iron are also included. “Lovely and clean room and shared bathroom”
Very nice and super clean room. The shared bathroom and shower were also very clean and large and right next to our room. Great location! Quiet at night.

You need to list that there is NO AC available. It is a beautiful hotel but no mention whatsoever that you would walk into a room without AC. I had to visit due to work and walking in at night without AC really made my stay very hard. Beautifull clean hotel but they should at least offer a portable AC option.

“The best place to stay at in Palo Alto.”
Easy and simple with the bathrooms in the hallway; yet exactly the perfect location and comfort. Can only recommend since you go out and can walk throughout downtown by foot. The staff was also very welcoming and forthcoming.

The location is great - easy to find, plenty of restaurants and coffee shops nearby, train station just a few minutes away. The team was awesome - very friendly and hospitable!

“Comfy bed, good hot chocolate, reasonable room. You get what you pay for, not necessarily bad.”
The bed was comfortable, with clean sheets and towels. The room was slightly noisy. Good elevator access and was a reasonable size. The free coffee for breakfast was good, with good free hot-chocolate too.

The location was fantastic - downtown Palo Alto, near train station and plenty of dining options. The rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is helpful.
