Overview
Located amongst lush gardens in Palekastro, the family-run House Margot is 2 km from the beaches of Kouremenos and Hiona. It features rooms with free Wi-Fi and a furnished balcony overlooking the mountains and the village. A fridge is included in all rooms at the Margot House. Each is equipped with a fan and a private bathroom with shower. Breakfast including coffee, tea or milk, bread, jams, yogurt, cheese and honey, is served in the sunny dining room that overlooks the mountains and the garden. The village centre with shops and restaurants is at 300 metres. The multilingual staff can offer information on nearby sights such as the famous palm beach of Vai at 7 km. The town of Sitia is 18 km away.

“Very good apartment for the price”
Placed in small town, not far from the palm tree forest. We had our breakfast on the terrace. That was beautiful.

“Enjoyable and restful stay.”
Large bedroom with good balcony. Bed was super comfortable. Shower was huge and very efficient, lots of hot water. Very close to town centre with many tavernas to chose from. Reasonable parking at the back of the hotel. Excellent value for money, owner very pleasant.

“Good room, but unfriendly host”
The room was a bit oldish, but big and clean with everything we needed. Maybe a bit overpriced (?) but it was august so we assume it’s normal…

“We had a wonderful and very restful time”
House Margot is perfectly situated in a quiet part of a thriving village. At short walking distance from a bakery, a greengrocer, a chemist's, supermarkets, shops, bars and tavernas. The location is excellent to explore (north) Eastern Crete and House Margot provides simply perfect accommodation. No frills, all substance. Airy rooms with comfortable, ample beds, a desk with mirror. A fridge, small plates, mugs, glasses and an electric kettle to enjoy breakfast, or a snack, on the balcony. It has good solid furniture inside and out. The bathroom has a large tiled shower with a handle bar that may be used to skip the threshold, if needed. My partner, who sprained an ankle a few days before our trip, particularly appreciated it as it amply accommodated a special shower seat we brought with us. Manos was the perfect host. Attentive to our needs and very helpful. He came to meet us at dawn to guide us to our room. He managed to move us to a room with only three steps to reach it, at very short notice. He provided a hairdryer and extra pillows and was always ready to help us further, if needed. We had a wonderful and very restful time.

Manos and Tonia were wonderful hosts! The room was large and comfortable and very clean. Manos helped us with booking a rental car and airport transfert too! Palekastro was a perfect base for tourism in eastern Crete.

“Lovely guest house”
We had a lovely big room which was very clean and opened on to a terrace with views of the mountains. We were very happy with our room. Breakfast was perfect and served in a delightful dining room. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. We really liked the village and had an excellent meal in a traditional taverna. We were on a 7-day touring holiday and this was one of my favourite places. The accommodation and the meal in the taverna were excellent value for money. I would recommend staying here.
