“Nice little hotel”

We found this small cozy hotel on our tour of Crete. The hostess was very nice and was happy to inform us about the area. The room was small but perfectly fine. The most important thing was that the beds were comfortable and that there was a balcony. The hotel had a nice pool area. It was a short walk to the center of Palekastro and we had a nice walk to the beach. The breakfast was good.

Very friendly and helpful staff, we felt very welcomed every single time when we were entering the building. There is a family atmosphere also during breakfast. The room was well furnished with a new bathroom, all very clean, also the swimming pool and its amenities. Thank you for making our stay so nice!

“Nice three night stay during our roundtrip”

Relatively small hotel with a cosy own pool area, near various beaches. Good basic breakfast, bread / toast, cols cuts, cheese, scrambled eggs, bacon, yoghurt with some additions, coffee, tea, juice, fresh fruits etc. Location near the village – within an ease walking distance from the the tavernas & town square but in peaceful environment though.

The rooms were nice. The staff were knowledgeable of the area and very friendly.

“A very pleasant stay in a beautiful, unspoilt area of Crete.”

The location of the Hiona Beach Hotel is good. It is close to the attractive village of Palaekastro with its many tavernas and a 20 to 30 minute walk to Hiona Beach itself. The surrounding countryside is lovely. We hired a car only for three out of the 14 days we spent at the hotel, and clearly having a car all the time may have been a better option. That said, there are many beautiful walks. The swimming pool, although shallow, was very welcome and well appointed.

Ana and the whole team are so friendly and authentic. It is very quite, very clean and a good starting point for tracking, beach, Sitia, Vai etc. Fully enjoyed being here the second time. The nearby village has plenty of good taverns, so everybody can find his/her favorite from Giros Pita to fresh fish.

Wonderful, helpful, friendly staff who are multilingual. A lovely pool and a fabulous breakfast is included. The hotel is walking distance from everything (tavernas, shops, etc) and very close to great beaches. Our room was small but had all we needed along with air-conditioning and a balcony with sea view. Highly recommend!

The receptionist was one of the most helpful of all and we received a full set of recommendations for all sorts of activities around the area right at our arrival. The hotel is small and so was the room too. But it was clean and quiet and the air conditioning worked well. Since we spend mot of our time on the beach, the room size was not any real issue for us. Anyway had to do some work on our vacation as well and luckily these hours took place in places we had more spacious accommodation. For basic vacation with only a normal amount of luggage it would have been perfect. Hiona Holliday Hotel is located only two minutes walk from the Palaikastro village center having multiple nice tavernas and cafes, supermarkets etc. And a 10 minute drive from the Vai palm beach. But since it is located just outside village center, it is very peaceful place to stay. A nice small and well maintained pool area as well.
