“Stay here just for the host and his meals 🤩”

The host was excellent. He was kind and funny and had a genuine love for the Camino and the people that are walking it. He is an excellent cook and took great care with presentation for our pilgrim meal.

Dear Marcello, Thank you for your very little 'castle'. There is such a good atmosphere in your house, that one can only feel good. I was glad, too for the sheets and towel of cotton. But the best was the Pilgrams meal I ate since I'm on the Camino. May your little 'castle' be blessed, and all who come and go there—especially you, Marcello 🙏

“Albergue for pilgrims by a Camino lover”

The host is very thoughtful for the Camino pilgrims’ needs. The bunk beds are very stable and comfortable. The beds make no noise and with curtains, which make a world of difference when it is a room shared by many. The bed and pillow covers are cotton which is not the case for most of the Albergues. There was also a communal dinner on additional costs. It is well worse it to meet other people on the camino. The owner is also an excellent cook, nothing fancy but thoughtful and measured tasty three courses dinner. Here one can also get a a beautiful wax stamp on your Camino credential against a donation. There is also mash machine and dryer.

The accommodation manager wasn't as friendly as the online reviews suggested, especially during the initial check-in. They didn't use a hot wax stamp to stamp the pilgrims' passports (hot wax stamps were on the table; I guess it's a matter of personal preference). Also, their stamp was quite large, exceeding the designated space in the passports. Furthermore, the staff didn't proactively sign the dates. I was not satisfied with this situation.

“Stay in a formal jail right off the Camino!”

I stayed at this small, quiet albergue and it was such a great experience. The place is clean and the location is ideal, right off the Camino trail. It’s away from the busy town center which is a bonus. One of the coolest parts, it’s actually a former jail, which gives it a unique character you don’t come across often. Marcello is a fantastic host and offers a delicious Italian dinner for a very reasonable price, complete with wine, which was such a treat after walking all day. The beds are also very comfortable, which made a big difference for a good night’s rest. Overall, a really lovely stay and I’d absolutely recommend it.

I was one of 3 solo travellers staying at this time of year and it was spacious as there was no one else. Room was warm because of the fire, shoes dried nice and quick and heaps of blankets provided

A quaint traditional place to stay with a homely feel. The outside space is a delight. Spending time with the other pilgrims at dinner was the highlight of the stay.

This place was perfect for what I wanted - the location is outstanding and it is full of little things that are really great It was quiet and there is no entry after ten pm. Not a place for those who want to socialise late, perfect for those that don’t. Had an amazing night’s sleep.

“Not Ideal for Solo Female Travelers”

Marcello welcomed me personally. I was able to wash and dry my clothes for €8. I slept very well. The bathroom and bed were clean. The surroundings weren’t perfect, but they were fine and felt cozy.
