Overview
The traditionally built Montecristo Chalet is set in Palaios Agios Athanasios, just 100 metres from the village centre. It offers elegantly decorated accommodation with hammam, free WiFi access and views over the mountain. The property is 17 km from Kaimaktsalan Ski Centre. Opening to a balcony, all rooms feature a private bathroom with a hydromassage shower cabin, as well as free toiletries and a hairdryer. Most rooms offer a fireplace. A flat-screen TV is available. “The very best accommodation in Macedonia's snow-capped mountains.”
We spent 4 days on a ski outing on Mt Kaimaktsalan's snowy and sunny slopes and stayed at Montecristo Chalet. . The premises in Palaios Agios Athanasios picturesque village are top notch. Accommodation, quality of bedding, comfort, amazing views over the village, of Mt. Vermion and Olympus with the sun rising over the horizon and an amazing homemade breakfast were highly appreciated features. Last but not least, Ms Sofia, the Chalet's manager ensured we had a memorable stay.

“A pleasant stay, excellent location, few improvements to the facilities would enhance the experience”
We truly appreciated the excellent location of the property. It is ideally situated just 20 meters from the village parking area, and the center of the village can be reached on foot in less than five minutes. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the breakfast was very enjoyable. Ms. Sofy was exceptionally friendly and always available to assist, which added a warm and welcoming touch to our stay. Overall, it represents very good value for money.

“Great accommodation in a wonderful montain village in Macedonia”
We stayed 3 nights at Montecristo chalet on a long week-end ski outing at Mt. Kaimaktsalan (2,050-2,500m alt.), Macedonia's best ski resort in Greece. Nowhere in alpine Europe could we find such a better value for money ski village and hotel accommodation. The Macedonian chalet architecture and interior design are outstanding, bedroom comfy, breakfast wonderful. A special mention and expression of gratitude is due to Ms Sofia, our cheerful chalet host for her professionalism and attention to detail. We will definitely come back to Montecristo chalet at Palaios Aghios Athanasios village.

“Great value for money”
Hotel location is perfect with a a nice view. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and the breakfast delicious. Hotel offers complimentary bottled water.
