You get what you pay for. Good for a 1 night stop on the slow boat, nothing more.

-You will see elephants bathing and the sunset . The price is very good, very worthwhile. Super economical price. The accommodation is clean and the view is very beautiful. Very cheap price. -There was nothing that I didn't like. I wanted to stay another night. But unfortunately I bought a ticket for a slow boat from Huay Xai to Luang Bang. If I have a chance, I will come back here again to relax. Tell all my friends to try it. You will not regret it. there are free pick up at the pier and drop back to pier morning.

“A good one night stop on the 2 day longboat trip to Luang Prabang”

Good location, as Packbeng is the standard lo cation for a 1 nigt stop traveling with longboat from Thai-Lao north border do Luang Prabang. Everything seemd to be made fittting and recieve a load of arriving travelers/backpackers arriving by longboat. Tranfer in pickup truch from boat pier to hostel, while its a steep & to long climb. Small 4 bed rooms were made ready when the bigger dorm rooms filleed up. Nice teracce to sit down vith view over Mekong and mountains. Meals could be ordered (while the boat arrives quite late) and breakfast & take away food for next day.

-I can highly recommend the Mekong backpackers in Pakbeng! It was our second time after 2013! Fantastic ,really nice view over the Mekong river and friendly&helpful staff! Mekong backpackers is highly recommended!!

It was cheap & the breakfast (extra cost) was good. It was not far from the slow boats.

At the arrival of the slow boat, a pick-up was waiting for us to take us to the hostel with our bags. Friendly welcome. Magnificent view of the Mekong from the terrace for the sunset, we even saw the elephants bathing right in front on 2 occasions. Big room clean Ac good. Good location, not from the central street with everything to eat.

“does the job for one night”

we stayed in 14 bed dorm. beds very comfy and good size. ac was working. 2 good clean warm showers. offered breakfast and takeaway sandwiches.

The beds were comfortable and the location is good. The hostel organises free pick up and drop off from the slow boat.

it’s a good place to stay while in between the slow boat days. nothing special, but it’s clean and comfortable, so all you really need. the staff was really helpful and accommodating even when the whole village had no running water.
