The hotel is right on the beach, and it’s well situated in Paje. It’s also very pretty, despite the fact that nothing works (the shower constantly overflowing, the ventilator not properly installed, the curtains falling—with the windows not being privacy friendly).

Very spacious, clean, nice space in front of the room. The fact that they were on the beach was amazing. The presence of the security guard stopped us from being harassed by salesmen.

All staff were excellent - so friendly and happy to see you each day. A lovely atmosphere and great location. Food was really good - particularly the Thai soup! Jenny the dog was adorable.

This is already my third time staying at Maisha Matamu Boutique, and every single visit has been better than the last. The hotel keeps improving its facilities and atmosphere, and this time I was honestly positively overwhelmed. Everyone at the hotel is incredibly friendly and makes you feel completely relaxed and welcome, giving you the perfect holiday feeling from the moment you arrive. Even though there are several restaurants nearby, the best food was definitely at Maisha Matamu. Every meal was fresh, delicious, and prepared with great care. The bar service was also excellent — you are always well taken care of. Another huge highlight is the location: the hotel is directly on the beach, which makes the whole experience even more special. I can highly recommend this place and will definitely come back again.

I had a truly wonderful stay at Maisha Matamu Boutique. From the very first moment, I felt more than at home and completely safe. The entire team is incredibly sweet and caring – from the security at the entrance, who always makes sure you are safe, to the housekeeping and kitchen staff. You can feel that everyone genuinely cares about the guests. The breakfast is delicious, and the menu offers a great variety, so there is always something to enjoy. The location is perfect – a beautiful place to relax, unwind and fully enjoy the surroundings.

Everything was perfect!!! In front of the sea with perfect view! Nearby restaurants and kitesurf spot. The food in restaurant very delicious!

The location was fantastic- right on the beach. The pool was always clean. The food was fantastically cooked and everything we sampled in our 7 day stay was delicious We had not intended to stay in Paje as out 7 day stay in nungwi was supposed to end there but the war broke out and we could not return to our next destination in Dubai. I didn’t want to stay at the last hotel for another 7 days and someone recommended here 🙏🥰. This stay turned a tragedy into a blessing and changed my impression of Zanzibar to a huge positive. Everyone so wonderful. And this is one of the very few holidays that I didn’t want to leave.

We loved our stay here. A taxi was waiting for us at the airport. Greeted by Aisha at reception who organised trips, massage and taxis for us when needed. All of the staff including Joshua, Rose, Grace & Oscar were brilliant & seemed genuinely happy which showed. Rooms were kept lovely & clean as were the grounds. Always being swept & hosed down. Food & drinks were good also. Just a lovely place to stay

A really lovely boutique hotel that felt intimate and friendly. The staff were all lovely, and there were some really nice little touches for guests - they would always do their best to go the extra mile.

Maisha Matamu Boutique is a lovely place to stay. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the location is amazing. There’s a beautiful breakfast terrace with a stunning view, which was a real highlight. The room was simple but very comfortable, well air-conditioned, and had everything we needed. Would happily stay here again.
