“A wonderful, friendly hotel in a central location.”

This was our second time at the hotel. The location is excellent, the staff is friendly, and the cleanliness is exceptional. We left with a positive experience for the second time. The Columbus monkeys jumping on the bushes, terraces and running around the pool provide a wonderful experience. We loved being there, and we might come back for a third time. But we might also try the hotel's "sister", the Zula.

I loved my stay at Mahali Zanzibar - it exceeded my expectations. My room was beautiful and spacious, with a wonderful view. The location is perfect: lively beachfront atmosphere, yet calm and secure inside the property. Sheby, Lucie, Nema, and Sweety were exceptional - caring, professional, and always ready to help with anything from bookings to late check-out. The new kitesurfing center with brand-new equipment is a great bonus. Mahali truly has heart and offers a rare balance of energy and tranquility. I would gladly return.

Family-friendly beachfront stay with great food and surf We stayed at Mahali Zanzibar as two families: one couple with two children (2 and 1 year old) and one couple with one child (1 year old). We came to relax, spend time together, and go surfing — and overall, the stay met our expectations. Rooms & cleanliness The rooms are nice with beautiful views, and daily cleaning is excellent. Bathrooms are fine but a bit basic; a small upgrade could make them more welcoming. Location, pool & atmosphere The pool is great, and the beachfront location is ideal. Even on windy days, it feels comfortable. The evenings are cozy and slightly festive, usually until 11 pm, but never disturbed our children. Baby monitors worked well, allowing parents to relax. Food & service Breakfast is very good, though starting at 8:00 am can be late for early-rising kids. The beach bar kitchen is outstanding; every dish, including burgers, was delicious. Prices are reasonable, and the staff were accommodating with early dinners and lunches. High chairs are available but not always cleaned when handed out. Staff & family friendliness The staff are genuinely warm and attentive, especially with children, without any sense of pressure for tips. They made the stay very relaxed and enjoyable for families. Kite & surf center The kite and surf center is a big plus. Equipment is in good condition, sharing gear between adults worked well, and instructors are professional. Not the cheapest, but worth it. Overall We stayed four days, fully relaxed, and felt very comfortable. Mahali is ideal for families with small children seeking relaxation, good food, and water sports. We would 100% return.

Wonderful helpful staff. Great location, lovely food. The pictures don’t do it justice! Our air con did break, and they fixed it very quickly.

The hotel was amazing in terms of aesthetics and view from our room. It was very clean throughout and very spacious. We really liked the pressure of the water in the bathroom. The access to the beach from the hotel was amazing. We would also like to extend our thank you and appreciation for all the amazing staff at Mahali especially Nema who made us feel welcome from when we checked in and until we checked out.

The hotel, the staff and the atmosphere was amazing. We really enjoyed staying in this hotel.
