We really loved our stay. The most amazing place, so beautiful, so peaceful and so interesting. The owners were so accommodating and so friendly, made us feel very welcome. Beds were super comfortable. Breakfast was amazing! Every day something different and super delicious. The views are stunning and the garden and flowers are beautiful. It was amazing. We loved every second there. Incredible property with the most amazing views. Charming, helpful host. Delicious breakfast. Pacentro is a delightful village too and a lovely walk from the property. The whole region of Abruzzo is just beautiful.

The castle itself feels ancient which adds to the atmosphere. The beds are one of the best we have slept in. Our lovely hosts served a lovely homemade breakfast. You could tell that much love was put into making it. They also shared recommended places to have dinner at, and which attractions to visit. Whether it's the lounge area or garden; everything was really spacious. The place is really silent and peaceful at night. A wonderful country retreat.

“Beautiful and peaceful accomodation”

This accomodation is beautiful! With its old building, its spectacular swiming pool and its sun terrace with amazing views, it was a true pleasure staying here. Very secluded, but in the proximity of a small town and a very picturesque mountain village with very good restaurants. Rooms were spacious and very clean, and had AC. We very much enjoyed our Italian breakfast on the terrace overlooking the valley! The host was very helpful and gave great recommendations. Will definitely come back!

“Amazing views of Sulmona valley”

The property and its pool have stunning views over the valley of Sulmona and the surrounding mountains and their constantly changing weather. Our room included a sitting room with an extra bed where we were able to keep our cases. We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace with homegrown figs. The proprietor kindly put up a line for us to dry our swimming towels and laundry.

It is a gorgeous property with a thousand year history. The house has such a good energy, it is decorated with love and attention to details. The owner gave us great recommendations for hikes, restaurants and things to see around.

The location is amazing, the Rocca is beautiful and very peaceful, and the owners are very kind and available to respond to any requests. We loved it and we will certainly be back!

Beautiful mointain views, very nicely renovated rooms in a historical house. as a bonus a good pool with amazing views. The garden and surroundings well taken care and nice. Suitable walk to historic Pacentro village and a short drive to a small but nice Sulvano town. Host was very friendly and co-operative, breakfast tasty on a most fascinating terrace.

“Everything was perfect”

The owner of the hotel was super friendly and even collected us from the train station and also drove us to Sulmona on our last day. The place is just stunning, the pool is set in an olive grove and there are various comfortable seating areas, also in the shade. It's so quiet and the air is clean. As we didn't have our own transport (we travelled by train) we walked to Pacentro every evening to have dinner. Pacentro is a beautiful and friendly little town, a real gem. There are also some good walks that are well signposted. I'm very surprised by a few of the comments below of people who were disappointed by their room. The place doesn't pretend to be a five star hotel and the interior is simple but comfortable and excellent value for money. One comment was about the size of the shower ('the smallest I'd ever seen'). I really wonder in what world these people live in. Another plus was to be able to use the kitchen and dining area. We didn't actually cook ourselves because there are good restaurants around, also in Pacentro, but it is a nice touch that you can and also handy to have a fridge at your disposal. Breakfast was very pleasant too. All in all, a very nice stay!

Beautiful medieval country house close to the ancient village of Pacentro. Perfect location for trips/hikes to the Majela mountains. Very nice and sympathetic host. Rich breakfast. Spectacular views from the garden to Pacentro and the Sulmona plain. Stunning pool surrounded by olive trees. Highly recommended.
