Overview
Situated on Lake Karanka, this log-cabin cottage is 20 minutes’ drive from Karstula village centre. It provides free use of a row boat, as well as a BBQ hut and private terrace. A lakeside sauna can be rented from the property. The 3-bedroom Villa Mertala provides a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. The cottage also has 2 bathrooms, a washing machine and drying room for clothing. The living room has a flat-screen TV and fireplace. Guests can enjoy on-site snowmobile rental and fishing licenses available for purchase. Other activities include swimming, hiking and cross-country skiing. A variety of restaurants and stores are found in Saarijärvi, 30 minutes’ drive away, while the smaller town of Karstula is 15 km from the cottage.

“Amazing cabin”
Lovely well stocked cabin in a gorgeous location. We loved the lake, sauna and boats and had a great holiday.

The location right at at the lake was definitely awesome and the 3 boats available made it even better. The beds were very comfortable, the surrounding forests were really quiet and great to collect berries or mushrooms! The nearby island of Summassaari is a very beautiful place to visit!
