The hotel makes a good first impression right from the entrance. The reception area features decorative (although artificial) flowers, and the staff is polite — we were welcomed by a friendly receptionist who spoke English. Unfortunately, there was an unexpected surprise at check-in: the receptionist asked for an identity document and kept it “in case of damage to the room.” I have been traveling for 30 years and have never encountered such a practice — a scanned copy of the document should be entirely sufficient. We arrived by bicycle and expected a safe place to store them. Unfortunately, for a 4-star hotel, there is no proper bike storage room. Instead, we were offered a cramped space resembling a storage closet, where fitting the bicycles was difficult. The corridor leading to the room is nature-inspired, but the very dim lighting makes it feel more like a dark and unwelcoming basement. The room itself also suffers from poor lighting and gloomy wall colors. In addition, we noticed stained chairs and pillows, which significantly lowered the overall standard. A major advantage of the hotel is the spa area. Inside, there is a warm swimming pool, a hammam, and a jacuzzi. Outside, guests can enjoy three hot tubs and two infrared saunas (around 70°C), which provide a truly relaxing experience. Unfortunately, there was no soap in the toilet — something absolutely unacceptable in a hotel of this category. Dinner à la carte (Italian cuisine) was average and did not stand out in any particular way. On the positive side, breakfast offered a very wide selection that should satisfy even more demanding guests. Summary: The hotel has potential, especially thanks to its spa area and excellent breakfast, but improvements are needed in service standards, cleanliness, and basic amenities.

Also very good spa area! Breakfast was a very good mix of everything you need. You can take your dog with you to breakfast and inside the hotel/room.

Very well located to do trekking in the area (right next to a GR trail). The spa was very good, especially after a long walk in the forest. Great breakfast buffet. The room was comfortable and clean, including a very comfy bed.

The wellness and relaxation area was amazing and the views into nature are great. The serene surrounding is definitely worth a stay and it's very close to Malmedy and Monschau.

1. Breakfast was served in a basket in front of the door. There was no warning about it at the time of the booking. 2. Huge discussion with the young employees at the reception. All kinds of arguments were made. I am coming to this hotel since 25 years! NO respect for my loyalty as a long-term customer. 3. When I asked to speak to the manager, they said there was no manager on-site. The reception even said that “the manager could not be called”! 4. No choice of the breakfast either: no eggs, nu fresh yoghurts… only “breakfast rolls ” which are not compatible with my dietary requirements. The list of abuse and frustration is very long. Clearly there is a new “management” and the hotel doesn’t deserve a **** ranking. Plus Aucune service à la clientèle. Good that there was no fire or other emergency with “no manager” policy. And this is supposed to be the high season! 😤
