Extremly friendly host - Marnarie gives a lot of insight into the country and the culture, super nice place in general - it is a family owned farm, amazing food - different every day, close to the Etosha National Park, nice walking trail nearby. Tarentaal is a place to feel at home!

The owner was very friendly and gave our family a true Namibian experience, telling us all about what living near Etosha is like. It was a nice intimate atmosphere and felt like a breath of fresh air compared to the more commercial lodges. They also provided an exceptional meal. This place was a true highlight of our trip. Will definitely be back

An exceptional stay at TARENTAAL guest farm! Pete and Maura (along with their sweet dog) are phenomenal hosts who went out of their way to make us welcome on their authentic, working African farm, which is also in a great location for exploring the park.

Lovely property within easy access of Etosha National Park. Lovely, huge room. Comfortable bed with great views across the gardens and fields beyond. Good, hot shower. Lovely meals and what we particularly liked was that everybody sits with others for dinner and breakfast and do you get to meet and chat with other guests. A really friendly vibe. Our breakfast bags for our day at the Park were very good and given to us in a cool box. The host was wonderful and very attentive.

This is an oasis for travelers. Piet and Mariana are phenomenal hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. The food was absolutely delucious.

After a long drive we found a green and colorful oasis in the dry and open fields, not too far from Etosha Natural park.. Owner Pieter entertains with wonderful stories, his wife cookes a great dinner and daughter in law Marnaria is the finishing touch in making you feel at home. We really felt at ease here, relaxing in the garden and the patio.

This stay at the TARENTAAL guest farm was exceptional, the welcome from Pete and Maura and the friendly dog was great. Both hosts went out of their way to make us welcome and the feeling of staying on a real working African farm was unmistakeable and very genuine. Pete took us out for farm drive to see his stock of amazing African Brahman cattle and gave us a very informative talk on the issues facing farmers in Namibia. We also visited another wildlife reserve nearby where we went on a feeding drive with Cheetahs, Lions, Leopards, Hyenas and caracal and also the nearby Himba villages to visit the school and also the village and meet the local ladies and children

“Great food and hospitality”

We stayed here for my birthday as it was close to Etosha NP. Our room was clean and comfortable. The highlight was our hosts' cooking. The food was delicious, and if you needed to leave early for safari, she would pack you a breakfast box to take with you. They took the time to celebrate my birthday along with other guests and had a lovely chat about our travels. Highly recommend !!

Our experience at Tarentaal Guest Farm was absolutely magical, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay during our time in Namibia. From the moment we arrived, Piet and Mariana Gouws made us feel like part of their family, offering a warm welcome that set the tone for our entire stay. Their genuine hospitality and passion for their beautiful farm truly made the difference. The guesthouse itself is a peaceful oasis, with beautifully decorated rooms that were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The garden and surroundings are simply stunning, offering a perfect blend of tranquillity and nature. We enjoyed many relaxing moments here, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of the farm. What really made our stay special, though, were the hosts. Piet’s knowledge of the local area was invaluable, and he was always eager to share interesting stories and tips to make our trip even better. Mariana’s cooking was a highlight of each day – delicious, hearty meals that were always prepared with love. Dining with the other guests around a communal table felt like sharing a meal with old friends. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat away from the typical tourist spots, with incredible hosts who treat you like family, we can’t recommend Tarentaal Guest Farm highly enough. Amazing... It was an absolutely great experience. We loved our apartment , garden and everything around it. But the best was the feeling that we were a part of a family for a while. We loved the time spent with Pete and Marianna...all the stories and the super delicious food. We will have these great memories forever.
