“Home away from home”

This private farm is AMAZING.... it feels like coming home. Small and quaint with only a few bungalows (2 bungalow... bathroom noise form neighbou was audible ...). Warm welcome, very accomodating, the food was great and the fact that one could go for walks/hikes was amazing. The gaem-drive was a highlight, as was my long hike through the hunting-safari part of the farm. The host/owner is present and happy to chat. The pool is small but does hte trick - refreshing after a long drive, walk or just for a dip. I will be back.

Wonderful experience in a really beautiful part of the world. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and accommodation was in a lovely setting. Had an amazing experience walking around the property, especially encountering the giraffes!

“Quiet villa with pool above a little hill”

We stayed at the villa with its own pool above a little hill, which was fantastic. The villa needs a little refreshment, especially the entrance doors and the sanitary rooms. But this was no big issue.

Beautiful Thatched chalets of quality construction and nicely fitted out. Food and service great and the whole grounds around were exceptional.The game drives were good particularly the grasslands area where we saw 13 rhinos in one trip.

Very comfortable and helpful friendly staff. The evening game drive (safari) was really excellent.

This is a marvellous place to stay. The accommodation and meals are first rate as is the opportunity to see the wildlife they have in the are that is provided. But the most important thing to note is how brilliant the staff are. One morning at breakfast it was noted we had a car tyre puncture. The staff took charge and dealt with the whole issue including removing the wheel, making a repair and replacing the wheel. All for no additional charge. This saved us a load of hassle and wasted holiday time that we could ill afford.

“The best place in the area - well worth a stay!”

The surroundings of the Sophienhof lodge were just beautiful, very quiet, beautifully designed. We had a very warm welcome from Willhelm, he looked after us perfectly while we were there. Willhelm organised a e-bike tour around the property which my adult son took, guided by Peter. My son says is was one of the best experiences of his life and Peter was also an amazing guide. I cannot recommend this Lodge more highly - in a great location if you want to go to Etosha but not stay at the government run property - plenty of animals roaming free, sympathetic surroundings, a fabulous meal (the chef was amazing) and the best staff. Highly recommend!

“Very good stay at Sophienhof Lodge”

Large private reserve with great game drives. Close to Etosha (1hr). Good-sized clean rooms with aircon. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Food - generous portions of buffet style and BBQ food. Freshly baked bread and home made jams were amazing.

This is a lovely place to stay en route to the Etosha national park, if you want to treat yourself to a bit of luxury. The rooms overlook a beautifully kept garden, the view from the pool is very pleasant and there are trails on the property the invite for a morning or evening stroll. The dinner was excellent and breakfast was good.

We loved our stay at this beautiful lodge! The staff were super helpful, and the food was delicious. The game drive was fantastic, and meeting the ostriches was a highlight. The peaceful surroundings and stunning wildlife made it a perfect retreat. Highly recommended!

“Nice and peaceful location!”

Very peaceful location, feels very homely. Breakfast was good. Nice little waterhole close by where you can see a few animals from the farm coming to drink. The chef introduced the dinner and explained a few things about the local people's food tradition, which was really interesting.
