We loved our stay in Ouirgane Discovery Lodge. It has such a lovely view of the lake from the terraces. It felt so peaceful having breakfast on the terrace looking out at the lake. The dining room was colourful and comfortable with windows overlooking the terrace and the lake - and in the evenings at dinner the fire would be lit for extra coziness. We were there in early May and the weather was perfect- sunny and warm enough to swim in the pool in the daytime and cooler in the evenings. The large pool with a view of the lake was definitely a highlight. The room was large and the bed comfortable. The food was delicious including the extensive Moroccon breakfast and the evening tagines. I am gluten free and they were happy to.provide gluten free food for me. The main township is about 10 to 15 minutes walk away - there is a cafe there too. However, what made the stay in the lodge really memorable was the manager, Abdullah. He was truly a kind, courteous and very helpful young man with a delightful sense of humor. He organised a couple of great walks for us and came with us as our guide. One walk was around the immediate area and another involved driving up into the mountains and walking through the villages. It was wonderful to meet the villagers and be invited into.their homes - it was a very special experience.

Stunning views and exceptionally friendly staff. It’s a great location to relax after long walks. The food was really lovely homemade deliciousness. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. A nice walk down to town with a few good restaurants

Stunning location looking at the lake. Lovely dining room and beautiful terrace. Delicious food. The breakfast was huge and tasty the tagines in the evening were so delicious. All the staff were great. Abdul was amazing. Such a warm and welcoming host. So kind to us and he took us for a days walk to Tizi Oussem as there were no available guides due to Ramadan. He was a fantastic guide and clearly very knowledgeable. And loved where he loves. As we did. It’s magic.

We enjoyed the traditional breakfast , it was really delicious , especially the porridge , just loved it . The homemade jam, the honey and the olive oil along with the dates, was just wonderful.

Staff are all very friendly, the food is good and we were particularly happy with the guide who Badreddine sourced for us to hike to the Berber village in the mountains. It’s a lovely place to stay and we intend to return.

“Authentic Moroccan experience in the tranquil setting of the Atlas Mountains”

The Discovery Lodge was just what we hoped it would be after a crazy few days in Marrakech. The lodge is peaceful and quiet with wonderful views of the Atlas Mountains and lake. There is a lovely pool which is not heated but is perfect for a dip to cool off! Abdel took us on a three hour walking tour of the local area which was excellent and we would highly recommend this. The food was home cooked and delicious and staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. We were very well looked after by the whole team. No alcohol just soft drinks and cash needed to pay for food, drinks, tour etc. Thank you for our wonderful stay!

It's a nice and quiet place with a great view over the lake. The family room was big and comfy, the breakfast and dinner tasty. The swimming pool provided a great refreshment in the afternoon.

“Simply Wonderful.”

An absolutely fabulous location , within the beautiful Ouirgane Valley. The valley itself is a wonderful place to explore and the views from the dining terrace and the pool are worth the trip, in themselves . Beyond the joys of the immediate area, Imlil is only 40 minutes by road. Imlil itself is quite busy and touristic, so we found it ideal to stay in Ouirgane and visit the stunning Atlas mountains , from there . There are numerous other options in this glorious area , too. We were served a delicious and plentiful breakfast every morning , with a lovely view of the lake , while we ate. Such a great start to the day . All this said , what made our stay really special were the people . Bada was a fabulous host - always ready with a smile and a swift response to any query . To one question as to whether we were or were not permitted to do something, he simply responded, "You are home " . And that is how it felt . Abdul provided a great breakfast and a friendly chat every morning but much more than that , he guided us on 2 walks that we will never , ever forget . The first, around the valley itself and the second in the Imlil area . We found this area to be truly extraordinary. Of course , it is possible to make these trips unguided , which we regularly do elsewhere. But Abdul made these experiences so much better , with his local insight , his energy and his humour. For a very fair price , it was just like being shown around by a knowledgeable friend . If we are lucky enough to have the chance to return to the area , we would certainly hope to stay here again , in this beautiful valley and with these lovely people .

Beautiful views and staff. The location was beautiful but a little remote. I recommend this stay to those who have hired a car. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. You won't go hungry!!
