“Comforatable stay”

Rooms are specious and equiped with everything. we had bad wather during our stay, but we were comfortable and cozy in the property. We checked in very late, the host accomodated us effortlessly.

“A great place in Oudtshoorn, good value for money”

Very big room, a huge comfortabel bed, great shower. The breakfast was super, made by the hosts themselves and quite a treat with fresh fruits & yoghurt, cereals, eggs how ever you want them done, very nice bread and a different bake of banana bread or pancakes each day. The walking distance to some good restaurants such as Nostalgia and Ebony & Ivory is great, we could leave the car in the secure parking and felt 100% safe to walk the streets at night. We spend some time relaxing near the pool in the tropical garden which was very pleasant.

The location is excellent. You don't have to drive far for activities. We were also served very nice breakfast. It was more than we expected. The hosts were friendly and so was the staff.

We had a special event while in their property was so special to organise a special cake just for us & the communication for our requests were absolutely fantastic. Their property, the place & all the structure of this property is absolutely magical. Highly recommend to anybody visiting the area.

A lovely old house (mid-19th Century) beautifully renovated and maintained. I particularly enjoyed meeting Christopher and his partner who looked after me in very thoughtful and charming ways. It was also well positioned for access to the Cango Caves on the one hand, but also the very good restaurant for my evening meal (recommended by Christopher).

Unique guesthouse, wonderful garden with pool, great breakfast. Very friendly and welcoming hosts, who provided helpful advice for our travels. Rooms are well maintained and clean.

“Wonderful”

We were very comfortable in our huge room and thoroughly enjoyed the plentiful breakfast with lots of home baking. Unfortunately only being there for 1 night we didn't have time to relax at the pool but greatly appreciated our hosts recommendation for dinner restaurant. We wish the current owners a long and healthy retirement ( at the bottom of the property!)

Good breakfast with a great fresh fruit salad and cooked breakfast with home made bread and apple cakes. Very helpful and friendly owners. Clean pool in pretty setting.

In the welcome information Oakdene is described as your home away from home and it is so true. This place is a little oasis, the garden and pool area are so well curated with quiet artistic flair. This creativity follows through on to the breakfast plate with the food presented with tiny flourishes. The welcome was great and the recommendations of where to go to eat really helped us. There are quite a few to choose from so it is great to have ideas. We felt well and truly spoilt

“A great find in an interesting town”

This was a great find. The owners were so friendly and hospitable - we really enjoyed our chats with them. The breakfast was excellent. Even the room, which was on the main road, went quiet in the evening and the pool and garden were a complete oasis of peace and quiet after a busy trip. Oh - and there’s secure parking too.
