Overview
Gumtree Lodge is located on the banks of the Grobbelaars River and features an outdoor pool surrounded by a large wooden terrace. It is 3 minutes’ walk from Oudtshoorn's shops and restaurants. All the air-conditioned rooms at Gumtree have a private bathroom and an outdoor seating area. Each unit has a TV, a minibar, and tea and coffee making facilities. Most of the room have large windows offering with panoramic nature views. The complimentary breakfast offers local products such as yoghurts, cheeses, cold meats, plus hot food prepared upon request, and home-baked bread. Guests can make use of the barbecue facilities and enjoy grilled delicacies such as boerewoers. Local wines and beers are available at the bar. The Gumtree Lodge’s staff can help organise visits to the ostrich farm, excursions to Swartberg Pass and wine tours in the area surrounding Oudtshoorn.

“Everyone was really happy with the accommodation and friendly service”
The host and staff were friendly, honest and helpful, we left something behind which would only have been discovered much later, however not only did they inform us about it they also send it via courier. We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was excellent!

“Excellent”
Gerry's place is phenomenal. Nice property with amazing views all around. Despite the stormy weather when we visited, we felt at ease; such was the hospitality. Gerry himself made breakfast due to staff being delayed due to some storm related issue & that shows the gentility of the host. They have 3 dogs on the property & they are the best companions you will have during your stay. Don't think twice before booking Gum Tree for your stay.

“Super Friendly, Relaxed and High Quality Guest Host”
We loved our stay at Gumtree Guest House. Jerry, the owner, made us feel especially welcome on arrival and thoughout our 3-day stay including kindly recommending and booking some excellent local restaurants on our behalf. The accommodation was spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable. We loved the friendliness and relaxed vibe complimented by Jerry's abilty to make a mean gin and tonic. A really excellent experience and we recommend Gumtree House unreservedly.

“Lovely guest house with beautiful gardens and pool area. Very friendly and helpful hosts.”
We had a lovely stay at Gumtree guest house. The pool was very welcome to relax by and the gardens beautiful (enjoyed watching the birds in the garden). Gerry was a wonderful host, very friendly and helpful. He gave some great advice on things to do in the local area and even had suggestions of where to visit on our onward journey. We loved Nature's Valley as a stop off point. We enjoyed a sunrise meerkat trip and the local bar and restaurant nearby. Breakfast was also delicious. Thank you for a great stay.

“Oudtshoorn stay”
We (couple and a friend) had a wonderful stay in this 2-bedroom cottage in Oudtshoorn for 2 nights. The guesthouse is on a secure gated property, surrounded by lush gardens with a lovely clean pool and bar area. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and well equipped with fridge freezer, single burner electric cooktop, toaster, kettle, crockery, cutlery, and glassware and some basic coffee and tea supplies. Gerry is a great host – he’s super friendly and happy to share his local knowledge to make sure you get the best out of your stay. Daily housekeeping is a plus!! The location is excellent – it was just a short walk to the shopping and dining options in the centre of town. This is a terrific option for an Oudtshoorn stay.

“Great place and host”
This is a great place to stay. Our room was very comfortable and clean, breakfast was exceptional and Gerry is the best host one can hope for, with good tips about the area. Bonus is that the gardener would wash our car every morning.
