A true green gem surrounded by mountains and canyons. The place is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful pool, an incredibly comfortable bed, and exceptional cleanliness. Everything was perfect, but what really touched our hearts was Elna, the host — so kind, loving, and genuinely caring. An unforgettable stay. Wow.

“Peaceful overnight stay”

Lovely arrival from Elna who met us in person and gave us a welcome glass of sherry whilst talking to us about some of her recommendations in the area. The location is beautiful - it felt very tranquil and relaxed. The pool area was lovely, it was a shame it wasn’t sunny enough during our stay to us to use it. The room was traditional, clean and well equipped. Liked the extra little treat of the rusks for breakfast!

Beautiful, spacious property surrounded by lush greenery, gorgeously landscaped pool garden, and mountain views. Choice of lovely spots to braai/bbq and the warmest welcome from our hosts. Perfect location for Cango caves.

Very nice lodge with a great garden and pool Area, just next to the Caves and the Pass. The city is also not far away. We loved the restaurant next to it (the old mill). The host was super welcoming, explained everything. Great communication also beforehand for arrival. It was no problem to store the luggage earlier. The rooms were Cozy.

“De Haas doesn't disappoint at De Poort”

Beautiful location with wonderful grounds, on the road to Cango Caves. Unfortunately the weather did not play along for us to fully utilise the facilities (e.g. gorgeous pool). The children thoroughly enjoyed the secret garden, especially since the Easter Bunny visited! Owner is very knowledgeable about the area and gave some solid advice on what to see and how to spend time in the area. Our main focus was the KKNK this time - we will definitely consider a return!

The cozy little oasis is beautifully designed, and we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The moment you pass through the lush driveway and enter the property, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. Elna, the lovely host welcomed us with such kindness, immediately providing us with all the tips we needed for exploring the area. She even helped us out with a small request right away, which truly saved our stay. Elna embodies the essence of South African hospitality, the kind of person you’d love to have a friendly chat with. The rooms are cozy and perfectly equipped, complete with a small kitchen, making them an ideal setup.

Very traditional lodge, completely different from the modern places that we had been staying at. The host was wonderful and incredibly helpful, making suggestions and booking us into restaurants etc.

Very friendly and warm welcome by the owner with good recommendations for everything, we needed for our stay, activities, dinner, etc.

Elna was such a wonderful host, so accommodating and friendly. The sherry on arrival was very welcome;). The rooms had everything we needed and if there was anything else required she was more than happy to help. It was a lovely quiet spot at night. We loved our stay - even though it was short.
