Unfortunately because of the bad weather we could not stay at De Cango Farm. But they offered us to sleep in their hotel in town, which was VERY comfortable. Thank you for that.

“Lovely stay”

We didn’t stay at De Cango farm since the road was washed away due to the severe storms in the area. The hosts communicated clearly & timely about this and offered us a refund or to rebook us to Pictures Guesthouse in the center. We opted for this option and had the loveliest stay with Eric at Pictures. Amazing room with a good shower and the best bed, nice fresh breakfast, secure parking and good location in town. The swimming pool & garden area were lovely as well.

The location was wonderful and our doggo loved it. It is quiet and far away from the everyday city noises and traffic. We unfortunately didn't see any of the animals whilst there the weekend. Rooms are cozy but they need attention for all the small broken things.

Beautiful cottages, exquisite setting. I would highly recommend this for families or groups of friends travelling together. The style and layout are conducive to this. It was great value for money and beautifully done.

Seclusion and tranquility of the place. The gravel road is approximately 5 km, not 15km as per instructions shared by the venue, which is a good thing. Grab supplies before going there so you dont have to go to town once checked in.

De Cango is perfect for travelers who want to immerse themselves in the unique landscape of the Klein Karoo. Whether you're there to visit the nearby Cango Caves or just want to sit on a private deck and watch the ostriches, it’s a tranquil and well-maintained retreat that is "good for the soul."

“Lovely room in small farm resort.”

We loved this place. The room was incredibly nice. It was a cold night and they already lighted the fireplace for us. The outside shower was great and the bed comfortable. Staff very friendly. The 5 k unsealed road is a bit bumpy and it’s better to lower your tire pressure a bit. But it’s good and you don’t need a 4x4.

“Relaxing getaway, totally worth the Rands!”

The 4.6km gravel road to De Cango Farm feels like an hour's drive. However once you get there, you forget about the road and just in awe of being in the middle of nature. There was only another couple staying there that weekend and we only saw them once in passing. It felt private and intimate and exactly what we wanted. That was good for us, as we were provided with the room next to us' key so that we could use that kitchen (as our room did not have a kitchen, which was a bit weird - but don't mind it, as the view and deck made up for that. We only saw one staff member - the guy who opened up for us and who assisted us with additional wood. Very friendly and helpful. It can feel a bit like you are forgotten about - as no-one else was seen otherwise. Which is not necessarily a bad thing!! Very private If you go in summer, be prepared - it's really hot! Our room did have a 2 small fans which helped. I'd certainly go there again if I need to take a break and get away from everything!

The accommodation was beautiful and romantic. The size of the room was spacious and we had a lovely view of animals using the watering hole from room 4. The kitchenette was great if you didn't want to go to the main kitchen, and we were able to use it with the braii outside.There were tea, coffee and single serving UHT milk cartons, and bubble bath for the stand alone bathtub that had a private view to part of the night sky. For stargazers, the reception area has a stunning view of the Milky way. Karoo is very dark at night and should definitely be advertised as a perfect place to see it. They ought to get a telescope as I am sure that would be very popular. There is a projecter and CD player in the communal area, but as wifi is limited and mobile reception is very bad, it is a perfect place to digitally detox. Staff were very keen to help and friendly.

It is a hidden gem. If you want to get away from the noise, this is the place. Absolute Karoo bliss. The communal kitchen with all the amenities and the history of the place makes it nostalgic and feels like home. Nonkie was very helpful, and friendly. Thank you for a great stay!

Love that we were surrounded by nature. Lovely views, cozy cabins, and some peace.

Love the fact that our deck gave us ring side seats to some local wildlife - sitting there was beautifully peaceful. The room was also nicely styled.

The shared main building is beautifully styled like an old farmhouse and immediately feels warm and cozy. There are board games, CDs, and video tapes available, which makes it easy to relax and spend time there. We stayed in cottage number 4 and had a lovely view with animals such as ostriches right outside, which was a great experience.
