“Heavenly stay, would come back in a heartbeat”

Absolutely insane place. Ive never been to a more welcoming, luxurious place. So comfortable, amazing open air baths, yukatas, all toiletries & phenomenal view of the lake. The souvenir shop is fantastic, and the restaurant they have downstairs opposite the souvenir shop served some of the best food and drink we have had in Japan. Hands down the most incredible place, their breakfast was very traditional Japanese style too that we got included with our package. They have a large public onsen, karaoke room, library, terrace & kids room. Please, if you want a proper Japanese style stay in the most boujee way possible, do yourself a favour and book a room!

Not too much people. We could enjoy the property without suffering from over-tourism. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Amazing authentic food. Staff were excellent at explaining how and what to eat with each course. Luxury onsen with fantastic views for a great price. Quick connections from Kyoto and the hotel pick you up from the station. Look for the black mobile phone inside, at the side of a stand/poster as you exit through the turnstiles. Also had the honey shampoo and conditioner to use (highly recommend).

The facilities were good and well located. Dinner and breakfast were amazing, extremely fresh and delicious food. The shuttle service was amazing, always available to pick us up or take us to the nearest train station. The staff was very friendly and attentive

They provided convenient pick up and drop off from/to the nearest train station. Service was good and all the staff very polite. The bath house experience was nice. We had a very filling dinner and breakfast at their in-house restaurant.

The facilities and gardens were truly outstanding. It was a unique location. The food was Michelin class both in terms of taste, service and presentation.

“Wonderful stay with views over the lake”

This is a beautiful hotel near Ogoto Onsen train station with a shuttle that you can call to take you to the hotel. Otherwise walking is fine too, 15m. We had a japanese-style room with futons, it was one of the best nights of sleep. There was also a private bath in the room with a wonderful view over the lake. Breakfast was pre-prepared, a lot of japanese-style small dishes from the local cuisine. There is also a gift shop near the reception for buying local products. Overall a great stay.

Great experience, felt very different to our other stays in Osaka and Tokyo. Staff were friendly despite a slight language barrier but they used Google translate which was helpful. Pyjamas were comfy. Private onsen was very clean and easy to use, a great experience.

Wonderful service and food. One of the best ryokans I’ve ever stayed in the area.

The ryokan had great services including a free shuttle bus to the station, a helpful staff which does it best to understand our needs and a muslim friendly menu for both breakfast and dinner. Furthermore, the private onsen are really helpful.

The onsen in the balcony with a view for the lake was definitely the highest point. They also offer typical dinner and breakfast at the ryokan for a fee with a large variety of dishes that can be a great experience. The room was really big and comfortable and the one girl from the reception that could speak English was the sweetest helping us with everything.

Everything was fantastic and a beautiful time well spent
