Good facilities, bags of character. Rooms were anime themed and unconventional layout, but fun. A friendly host, a good nights sleep. Perfect location for Sunshine Beach Parkrun!

A very cool concept. The room felt more like a small apartment, with the space being very well utilised. I loved all the different dioramas in the room and in the property. Very friendly staff. It was well worth staying here as a base to visit Kyoto, and the area is very nice to explore too.

Perfect place to stay when in Biwako!!!

“Unforgettable! Thank-You!!!!!”

I had seen the pictures and knew that I was in for an interesting experience, but this really exceeded my expectations!!! This inn is a prodigy of “miniaturism” and you step into a fantasy world. The use of space is ingenious and artistic. Every room is completely different, has its own personality with its dominant color and its own craziness. Personally, I could have done without all the manga plastic figurines but at the same time, it is really fun to plunge into somebody else’s delirium. The staff is super nice and warmhearted. They weren’t there when we left, so this is my way of saying goodbye and thank you for an unforgettable stay in Otsu!

“Quirky little place”

Very friendly staff. We had a fabulous meal prepared for us and werr given good local restaurant recommendations. They were very kind and gave us a lift to the station when we left.

Location was great, able to visit both sides of Otsu.

It was the best use of the smallest space and so interesting. Had everything you needed.

“Hannu”

Theme hostel combining anime, walking dead and terrarium. Off from the Kyoto tourists and chill surroundings next to the lake biwa. Rooms are well equipped and also common space to play pool. Coin laundry for use. 30min travel to Kyoto main station.. staff is super friendly.

“It was okay”

The rooms are nice and clean. The owner was very kind. The location worked great for me as I preferred a place further away from the crowds but easily connected to Kyoto.

“You have to see it”

Very unexpected rooms — you have to see it. Thousands of little dolls, trinkets, metal parts, aquariums. Great location on the lakeshore.

“Great to experience but unfortunately not for older people even heathy fit ones!”

The owner was lovely and made us very welcome, the facility was so clean and the room as stated ‘quirky’. She even drove us to the railway station on departure.

Amazing friendly staff who were willing to do anything to accommodate our needs. Convenient location, only short walk from Zeze train station that takes you 10 minutes into heart of Kyoto perfect for day trips. It was also located across the road from the lake and was very nice relaxing neighborhood rather then busy centre of Kyoto. 7/11 down the street as well. Rooms were very clean and organized and had very cool themes. Pool table, dart board, and smoking area also available. Affordable price and great value for money. Will be returning when back in Kyoto area.

So much to see, friendly staff and very handy location for us.
