“worth to go”

We were looking to go outside but far from any place. For the food for the diner, worth to go the restaurant, even it close early. Nice place to prepare your own food but anticipate to bring them in advance

The check-in was easy and the staff were so kind, relaxed and helpful. We loved our room. It was spacious, clean and had a wonderful japanese feel to it. We even had a balcony. It was very comfortable and charming. The bathroom and showers were very clean. The common room was on the second floor and also very comfortable and clean with everything you could ever ask for. It had a kitchen, many tables and even a cozy sitting area with a couch and a pretty view over Biwa lake. At the front desk there was a shelf with snacks and food and hygiene products that you could purchase. You can also rent a towel for 100¥ or a bike. The location was amazing, very close to the beautiful beach and nature. This stay was very nice and relaxing. We would love to come again.

“Perfect nice&chill place for travellers with light bags or a car, great price”

Ideal for people traveling light! Be aware it is far from the station and far from the only combini in the city. The accomodation makes up for that by providing basic foods and necessities (incl. towel rental) for average supermarket prices. The positive side of that is that you are in an actual calm nature and not too far from the Biwa lake beach that feels like a sea beach (beautiful day and night). The traditional Japanese room was very pleasant and unusually spatious, and you can use the common spaces - big bath, showers of course, cheap laundry machines, and a big kitchen-dining room, where you can use coffe and other things for free.

“Great hostel but plan your meals!”

Clean hostel with good well-stocked kitchen and lovely beach nearby. We didn't swim but even sitting by the lake was really lovely and relaxing. Others have mentioned long walk from the station but we didn't find it too bad at all. It's well signposted and more or less straight. Our double room was clean and spacious and bathrooms clean also.

Very near to biwako. And spacious place if you are going with group or family. All the facilities are available. You can cook, spend timing in lounge, take a dip in biwako.

Plenty of room in the dorm, clean, close to the Lake Beach, lunch and dinner options near by, aircondition in room

The proximity to the beach, all of the extras you could pay for (their front desk is very well stocked), their Japanese baths and the vibes in general were really chill.

“Great value for money”

We loved our stay that we extended it. The staff are kind and helpful. This was a highlight of our trip in Japan.

The open space for guests is spacious and well facilitated. Big kitchen with 2 rice cookers , microwave, water bottles... a few tables for dining and outdoor dining area with good view. Bath and shower area is big with Japanese style. Enough toilets at each floor. Clean Near to the lake, fresh air and goud view

Second J-Hoppers we stayed at. Amazing location by the lake! Comfortable rooms and bed. The building is great, the onsen amazing, so nice to relax!

The staff were very efficient and helpful. I loved the location right by the lake. The rooms were comfy and cosy. The onsen was amazing after a full day of walking.

“A quiet oasis”

Although it was a little bit further away from the city, this place felt like it gave you a real authentic experience. The location and being able to ride around on the bikes through the little villages was something else. Being able to kick a ball around for a little bit, the awesome restaurant (had the chef special and it was unreal! ) really Happy for the couple that run J-Hoppers) Loved everything.

“Full of activities and friendly staff”

Friendly staff especially Kaito who invited me to play 5 a side Futsal with him and other locals. As a Futsal player it’s always a joy to be able to play at locations you mever expect to play. I enjoyed cycling along Biwako as well. Getting to see the the mountain ranges, beatuiful lake scenery and traditional Japanese housing. I also got a free fishing gear to rent to fish around Biwako.

“I'd stay here again, enjoy the quietness, and best place to rest easy during a long journey”

I really enjoyed the quietness in the morning and evening, I stayed in the tatami room having the place for myself from the rest of others. The entire facility was super duper clean, the kitchen is not only where you'd cook but meet others from all around the world to create friendships for those days and so on. The hot bath was just what i needed, if you are hiking, biking or whatever sports you are taking on and those legs of your hurt, its the best healing place too and there's an outside porch to walk nakedly after a long bath. The chef's good is so unique and special, he cooks the best burgers I've tried in a while and I must say I highly recommend of course the price on the meal is abit pricy but worth every yen you got in your pocket for a good meal! Bikes can be rented and they are quite useful if you want to go on a little adventure around the area, head to a supermarket to get your own supplies and much more
