This property is gorgeous. One of the staff said the building was 350 years old. It is well maintained. The gardens are beautiful. All the printed materials are in Spanish and English if you need it. The rooms and common areas feature art from local artisans that is for sale. The bed was comfortable and had lots of Blankets for cold nights. Space heaters are also available. Breakfast was included, and there is a safe interior place to park your car off the street.

This was one of our expensive stops on our trip. In the end we didn't mind the cost as any excess that we thought we were paying is going to charitable causes. We would encourage everyone to do this. This is a wonderful place with wonderful people and a wonderful mission. And the rooms are good. And there are lashings of hot water. And the staff are great and so is the breakfast and the restaurant and it's only four blocks walk from Poncho Plaza. Please come in droves and add to the successes of this place. We stayed an extra night and were sad to leave. Great communal sofa area with log fire as well!

Nothing is more typical of Otavalo, Ecuador, than this hotel. Stunning Spanish style architecture, manicured garden full of hummingbirds, local folk art decoration displayed with effortless elegance (and they can be bought!), immaculate and well appointed rooms overlooking garden and mountains. The staff is very polite, attentive and helpful. Quick and excellent laundry service. The food -breakfast, lunch or dinner, served on demand at the time you want- is prepared from scratch and absolutely delicious and caters to vegans. Bravo for their deep dish chocolate brownie! Finally, it is a joy to sit in front of their huge fireplace, watching the fire while thumbing one of their books. Not to forget their adorable dog Patcha who enjoys so much being with her guests...And the hotel is three blocks away from the famous Otavalo market!

“Exceptional stay near Plaza de Ponchos”

Comfortable, clean rooms with attention to detail. The service was exceptional. Conveniently located only a 5-10 minute walk from the Plaza de Ponchos but away from the bustle and noise of that area. The property and grounds are peaceful and meticulously maintained with indigenous art, plants, and manicured gardens throughout. Delicious breakfast included and tasty food at their restaurant. It was well worth paying little bit extra to stay here.
