“Magical mystery tour”

Rose Cottage is a beautiful place; it looks taken straight out of a book. I was marveled by the views, especially the sunsets in the jacuzzi. The staff is very kind and there is a lot of activities to do, such as practicing yoga, admiring the horses, and playing sports, darts and board games. One of the things that surpised me the most was how peaceful and quiet the place is, and, at the same time, relatively near from the city (about 10 min by car). My friends and I went for a ride to experience the city's night life and we weren't dissapointed at all: we found a considerable amount of places to have fun. It was a great experience overall. Having the waterfalls' trail just right around the corner was a big plus. Half an hour deep into nature you will find the Taxopamba Cascade. The place is marvelous and the experience of getting there amazing. Bonus advices for adventurers: -Visit the Mojandita Mirador Church, you'll get an awesome view of the San Pablo Lake from there, day or night(at night is more thrilling). The church is very close to the cottage(about 3 min). -Visit the Mojanda Lake, during the day the water looks Turquoise, during the night, when there is a full moon, the lake looks like a silver sea, I wouldn't recommend you to miss it. -There is a place in between Rose Cottage and the Mojanda Lake from which you can see the sunset underneath from were you're standing. The place is hard to miss.

“Beautiful!”

The views are insane!!!! Couldn’t believe how many volcanoes I could see from the grounds. Loved having a beer in the jacuzzi too! The WiFi is great - was able to use my laptop easily and take some calls for work

A beautiful and peaceful location outside of Otovalo, ideally located for the Trans Ecuador Mountain Bike Route. We arrived late, but with a very warm welcome from Christian and his wife, Brigitte, who lit a roaring fire for us and cooked up excellent food. Strongly recommended.

“Peaceful and inspiring place to stay”

I had a wonderful stay at Hosteria Rose Cottage. Mark and Rosa were excellent hosts, they were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating, they really went out of their way to make me feel at home. The hostel is nestled in the mountains less than a 10 minute drive out of Otavalo, the location is tranquil and the view is so inspiring. Evening meals are very reasonably priced at $8 for a wholesome home cooked meal plus a pudding, veggie options are available. I originally booked 2 nights but liked it so much that I booked an extra 2!

Nice location, stunning views and good breakfast every morning! The staff was wonderful, they did everything to make it a nice and comfy stay.

If you want to spent some time outside the city with an amazing view - this is the place to go. The stuff is really nice and they help you a lot if you need a taxi, some sort of information etc. I spent 3 nights there and it was a really good time!

The location was stunning with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Comfortable beds and lots of blankets kept out the cold. Very helpful staff.

Beautiful place to stay with family. Views are amazing and staff friendly and attentive. We had a great stay!!! Thank you to Mark, wife and their staff for looking after us during our stay. No doubt we will go back. I highly recommend this place.
