“An all round relaxing experience.”
The tranquility and privacy was just what I was looking for. The occasional train going by didn’t bother at all. An excellent breakfast. Bathing experience was glorious.

“Fabulous stay would highly recommend”
The hotel was spotless and very well laid out rooms. Though they were small we didn’t feel cramped at all and we really liked the free parking and the breakfast and the lovely garden view we got with breakfast. Close to the canal and man attractions as well this is truly an unassuming hidden gem

Good location, as it wasn’t too far to walk from the train station and bus stops, but still quiet enough; cozy Japanese-style rooms; very good shower head with strong water pressure; and a more-than-adequate breakfast spread with a fantastic view of a snowy garden!

“A delightful find”
The staff / owner could not do enough for us to make our stay more comfortable. To arranging breakfast earlier, adding extra futons, and extra pillows, and arranging a taxi for me, they were so helpful and kind The location was fantastic, walking distance to the main shopping and canal area , but also right in the heart of the best eating area in Otari, Hanazono. There are numerous restaurants on your doorstep.

“Feels Just Like Home!”
I had a wonderful stay here. The staff were so welcoming and helpful — they even helped me find the money I had lost! The atmosphere was even nicer than the pictures in the ads. The bed was super comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, and the whole place was peaceful and friendly. It truly felt like home — warm, quiet, and cozy. I can’t wait to come back again!

Plum House Otaru Ryokan is an exceptionally clean and beautiful place to stay, with a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The in-house onsen is a wonderful added bonus and perfect for relaxing after a day out. Breakfast was excellent and thoughtfully prepared, adding to the overall experience. Everything is conveniently within walking distance, making it an ideal base for exploring Otaru.

Loved the onsen and breakfast! Great range of western food mixed with some tranditional Japanese options. The owners are so lovely and greet you every monring! Un,limited coffee which is always nice. The rooms are fairly big and the free towel changing service daily was a bonus!
