“Best value for money!”

This hotel exceeded expectations. The staff were so courteous, and the rooms were honestly breathtaking, we wished we had booked longer ! It was our favourite stay of our Japan trip this year!! The shuttle bus was also so simple to organise, definitely recommend it!

Classic style hotel with a fantastic view. Private onsen in room was great to return to after a a day out on the slopes. Staff were polite and informative. Breakfast set was delicious. A rare gem in Japan.

The views!!!! Outstanding!! The in room sea bath is a rare treat and the food at this hotel is also exceptional! Book the hotel transfer bus from the train station. Staff easy to communicate with as they have a voice translator. Good toiletries.an excellent couples stay (would not recommend for children).

Dramatic view Rooms confortable Very Good Breakfast

I had a great stay at Neu Schlos Otarul. The room was comfortable, clean, and offered a beautiful view with a private onsen. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing.

Fantastic position, with the best view. Shuttle bus pick up and drop off back to Otaru station. It’s on a cliff side, fantastic to stay and relax and the food was fabulous.

The private bath in the room was indescribable, the food each day was delicious. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

“Old world charm with stunning ocean views”

The location was amazing. Stunning views from the rooms. The onsen in the room was huge, filled and you can open the window to get an outdoor feel. The meals were great, tasty, beautifully present and large portions. The staff were amazingly friendly especially in the dining room. Highly recommend.

1. View of the cliff edge and the ocean from our room window of the hotel. Great views from outside the hotel and from the lookout nearby. 2. Excellent included French style breakfast. 3. Nice private onsen with window overlooking the ocean. 4. Large spacious room with two double beds (typical of old grand old hotels). 5. Friendly staff especially in the restaurant. 6. Calm pleasant incidental music in the corridors. 7. Free parking onsite.

“A warm and welcoming place to stay during stormy (and eventually snowy!) weather”

The ocean view from our hotel room was beautiful - even though it was raining and cloudy while we were here, it was a lovely stay. The room and especially the bed were humongous - the staff were very welcoming and spoke great English.

The meals were exceptional and the veiw was fantastic.

Very peaceful location with amazing views of the water from the rooms. In-room onsen was very relaxing to rest in. Location is a bit hard to get to normally but contacting the hotel to reserve a spot on their free hotel shuttle made the journey seamless.

“Amazing 4-course meal and private onsen”

Our booking included breakfast and dinner, and the staff kindly reached out beforehand to remind us of the dinner timing as we checked in slightly later than usual. The quality of food provided at this hotel is equivalent to fine dining restaurants which would cost a premium. Food was amazing and way beyond what we had imagined, and the private onsen in the room was very enjoyable too. Highly recommend staying here.
