“Very good place to stay in Oslob”

“A whale of a time.”

It's a quaint little place. Don't expect hotel extravagance and your expectations and experience should be fine. The best part about this place is that it is just next to the beach, literally. The host is friendly and respectful. She can organise the trip to whale shark, sumilan island and tumalog falls for you if needed. Which includes all the cost for the guide, car and fees. It's about a 15 min walk to the main hub if you want to find something to eat. Didn't mind the walk but the locals will catch a tuktuk. Not much to do here except whale watching which was fantastic.

We enjoyed our stay so much! We even wanted to extend it, but unfortunately the room was no longer available. The room was spacious, the air conditioning was quiet, and there was always hot water in the shower. We also appreciated the free drinking water. The wifi was a bit weak in the room, but I was still able to work remotely without any problems. The best part was definitely the terrace with a sea view—we saw so many turtles from there! The staff also helped us organize a whale shark trip, which was truly a highlight of our Philippines trip.

Our hosts Evelyn and her husband were so so lovely. Very helpful organising our tours, recommendations for places to eat and even helped us hail the bus for our trip back to Cebu City so we could get an air-conditioned bus. Their driver, Eddie who took us on our tours was also great. The location was fantastic! Beautiful terrace down to the beach right from the accommodation was a huge plus. We even saw turtles while snorkelling out the back of the hotel. Comfy beds as well. Convenient location, short walk to restaurants and 7-11 in town. 20 minute drive from whale sharks in Oslob. A few reviews mentioned water pressure but it wasn't really an issue and is pretty standard for that part of the Phillipines. Don't let this deter you from staying at Melronz, you won't want to miss out!

“A happy place”

The room was great although basic . Of course , Evelyn and her husband's reputation of being so helpful and friendly preceeds them and it is so true . Don't fret about any plans as they go out of their way to assist. Jerry , the tok tok driver who helps with transport is such a stunning person . We even asked them to have a barbecue of baby tuna's with us for lunch and Evelyn supplied the steamed rice for us . It was as if we were family .

The room was great, very spacious and comfortable and clean. Access to free water top ups was great. Lovely place overlooking the sea and you can hear waves on the rocks at night, very soothing. Evelyn was amazing, really welcoming and helpful organising trips and giving advice about buses etc. This place is excellent value for money.

“Simple yet clean accomodation in Oslob”

Melronz Inn in Oslob is a very basic and simple accommodation. The rooms are clean, but the facilities are quite minimal. In particular, the bathroom and shower do not allow for a truly comfortable shower, as the water pressure is low. The property has direct access to the sea, although there is no beach directly below the accommodation. The entrance can be a bit difficult to find: it is a small gate, located next to a car wash. The family lives in the same courtyard, which is something to be aware of. Rooms are equipped with a kettle with tea and coffee, a small fridge, and very basic furnishings. That said, everything is very clean. What really makes the difference is the service provided by Evelyne. She is extremely precise, organizes your days perfectly, books taxis with drivers/guides, takes care of laundry, orders breakfast to be delivered to the property, and gives many valuable tips. Her support greatly improves the overall experience. If you do not have high expectations for the room—especially the bathroom—it is suitable for one or two nights. A special mention to Evelyne, who truly makes the stay much better.

Location...if you're staying in Oslob, you'd be hard pressed to find a better location. Absolute waterfront...swim and dive in front of your room. Large room with all the required basics for long or short stay. Rooftop balcony for those sunrises and sunsets. Close to shops.

“Spend a few days in Oslob if you have the time”

Nice place, right on the water and perfect for a quick dip. About 1km to a few restaurants and the 7/11 but there is a restaurant just over the road. Lots of tuk tuks - easy and cheap to get around. They organised our whale shark day which was quite amazing. If you’re a confident swimmer hire a GoPro! The island trip was okay. Quite windy when we went and coral wasn’t great. The waterfall was definitely worth a visit.

Evelyn our host was extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. She and her husband organised all our tours and other needs (laundry, food, transport and shopping). There are many other resorts around here but if you’re looking for a balance of service, location and value then this is probably going to be your best option. The mall is 6 minutes walking distance away. There’s a BDO bank there and another ATM machine inside.

The owners are amazing! So nice and helpful and always available :)
