Overview
Surrounded by 3 national parks and close to the Kolpa River, Hotel Kovac in Osilnica is a great base to explore the caves as well as the coast of Croatia. It offers free Wi-Fi. At the restaurant mouth-watering homemade dishes are served. The menu includes freshly caught trout from the river, game, mushrooms or stuffed veal. There are 3 well-equipped conference rooms. Hotel Kovac also features a big outdoor sports centre where you can try out rafting, paintball, trekking, mountain biking or archery.

A very nice facility in an excellent location, ideal for numerous trips into beautiful nature. They offer many additional services and activities, and the food is very good. The staff is very friendly.

This was my first time staying in this part of Slovenia, and I have to say the hotel really has a special charm. It’s located in unspoiled nature, which gives the whole place a very unique and relaxing feel. We got a very warm welcome at reception, including a welcome drink (homemade schnapps), which was a really nice touch. Since we had an early check-out, they also prepared a tasty and generous lunch package for us – something we really appreciated. The rooms are a bit on the older side, but they’re clean and well maintained, which is what matters most. The hotel also offers a lot of additional activities (swimming, rafting, etc.), which definitely adds a few bonus points and gives us a good reason to come back. All in all, this is one of those hotels I can easily recommend for either a short or a longer stay in this part of Slovenia.

“Stunning location and great value”
An unbelievable location for woods and nature. Utterly beautiful! I want to move there! The staff were welcoming, gave us a little welcome drink and a map of local walks. The restaurant terrace has beautiful views. The room itself was clean and comfortable. They upgraded us from the annex to the main building and our view was outstanding.

Super friendly staff!! We arrived relatively late from a bear observation trip (book with CroMedo!!) and they still served us dinner. Nice traditional hotel directly at the brink of the Slovenian-Croatian border. Can’t imagine a better starting point for wildlife watching, hiking or rafting.
