Overview
Air-conditioned Japanese rooms with free WiFi internet, a tatami-mat floor and yukata robes are on offer at Hotel Kuramoto, 600 metres from Nipponbashi Subway Station. It has a hot public bath and offers Japanese meals for an extra fee. Rooms at Kuramoto Hotel have simple Japanese furnishings, including a low table with floor cushions. Each room has a fridge, an electric kettle with green tea and an en suite bathroom. Namba Station is about a 15-minute walk away, and Osaka Castle is a 30-minute train trip away. Shitenno-ji Temple is 3.1 km from the hotel, and Osaka Tenmangu Shrine is a 15-minute drive away. Public baths are separated by sex and are open in early morning and throughout the evening. Luggage can be stored at the reception. Set meals are offered at the dining area for breakfast and dinner.

Amazing experience staying in Ryokan. Staff was friendly, room was clean and spacious. Enjoyed the futon bed and japanese furniture.

“Surprisingly spacious for a fairly convenient location”
The staff are very friendly (umbrellas available when the weather is atrocious), it's clearly a while since it was last decorated, but it's perfectly clean, and also pretty cheap - very good value if you don't mind that there's historic (not current) water marks on some of the walls. The room is pretty sizeable too - very good value considering the location and everything.

“A charming traditional Japanese inn experience.”
If you’re looking for a traditional Japanese inn experience then the Osaka Ryokan Kuramoto is the perfect answer. We stayed in a quadruple room on the sixth floor even though there were only two of us since at the time of booking it was the only room available. However it turned out to be a great choice as we had so much room. Instead of four futons on tatami mats we had just two so a lot of extra space that was very welcome. The room itself was incredibly clean and so charming with a little Zan garden outside the window balcony (not usable) and windows that from the top half had the paper inset and could slide open for fresh air. We found the futons extremely comfortable and the pillows likewise. The room was also very, very quiet and the shower great. We loved the robes to go to the bath house on the ground floor and the bath house itself was so nice and very welcome after a busy day in Osaka. Our booking did not come with breakfast but we were able to pay for it on arrival and it was excellent. A traditional Japanese breakfast with so many little plates of delicious foods all set out beautifully. The staff were very welcoming and can speak some English. All in all it was a lovely experience and a highlight of our trip to Japan. On a future trip we would return in a heartbeat!

“A honeymoon with a Ryokan experience!”
We really enjoyed the vibe of our room, the flooring, as well as the bedding. It was super comfortable. The front desk operates 24 hours, which we found to be super convenient. We were also able to leave our suitcases at the hotel earlier on, so we could go out empty handed. Staff were very accommodating

Amazing ryokan experience with the typical futon beds and Japanese furniture! Also a fine onsen available with warm water and several facilities such as showers. Ok for the public transport connections!
