Amazing Breakfast options to choose from. Very friendly and professional staff members who also helped us with transport information and extras. A couple of stops by tram to a lovely Souk where we could buy spices, outfits, accessories etc. The place is very safe as the building opposite is police headquarters. The tram is open from 06:00 am until 22:00 pm and very safe. ( 2 sisters travelling). You can also download the app called Yassir, which is the equivalent to Uber. That is what we downloaded and used for our Airport pick up and drop off. The kindness of the people of Oran is unmatched in my opinion. Definitely recommend!

“A good place to relax in Oran”

Le Palme Hotel is located in a quiet and safe area within Oran. The restaurant provides good food, both for breakfast and dinner. My room was also very spacious and had many amenities. There are also small shops nearby. Special thanks to Amar for making me feel welcome throughout my stay in Oran.

The staff members at the reception were very kind, always willing to help. I found the staff members in the restaurant very shy avoiding eye contact with the clients which stopped me from asking them anything as I didn't want to put them in an unpleasant situation. But then I ended up not getting things that I wished for. The room was very small and there was not really enough space to put your luggage. The bathroom was pretty ok. On the other hand, the room was very quiet at night and the bed was really comfortable. When we arrived to the hotel there was power outage in the whole neighborhood including the hotel so we couldn't use the elevator and climb the stairs up to the seventh floor. The power outage obviously stopped the A/C as well which was unpleasant in the middle of the summer. Luckily the outage didn't last long. And I also acknowledge that there is not a lot the hotel can do about this.

The hotel is very new and is in very good condition, clean and good size rooms. All the staff were super helpful and friendly. The hotel is on the tram line which takes you most places you will want to visit in Oran. A note for non Algerian travellers - the hotel at this stage only takes cash payment. The closest ATM that consistently worked was in the lobby of Rotana Hotel, a few tram stops away. This only accepts VISA we did not find anywhere that accepted Mastercard in Oran.
