“Very pleasant surprise”
Northern Namibia has the highest density of inhabitants outside of the major cities and unfortunately, it shows, There are far too many goats, donkeys and cows roaming the roads and the countryside has largely been denuded of vegetation. When you approach Opuwo town, it shares all the characteristics of small rural towns in developing nations and, as a result, is not particularly attractive. Following directions, the dirt road rose out of the town through what seemed a slightly more affluent area, ending at a stone entrance with large gates. Having gained entrance and driven over the brow of the hill, one could be excused for thinking you had been transported to another planet - great vistas over tree-lined valleys, thick vegetation and a track which would down to an enormous thatched building - we later found out, the largest single span thatch construction in the southern hemisphere. Staff were very helpful and friendly, facilities were great and the food both plentiful and tasty. The patio provided great vistas, with a boma and fire to enjoy late into the evening with a tipple of one's choice

An excellent hotel with a very warm atmosphere and attentive staff. We especially loved the location and the peaceful surroundings. Here you truly feel the real Africa — its atmosphere, nature, and unique character. A wonderful place to relax. Many thanks to our guide, Asser, for an unforgettable excursion to the Himba village. It was a unique and very informative experience. Asser spoke with great respect for the local people, answered all our questions, and made the trip truly special. We sincerely recommend Asser as a professional and warm-hearted guide.

The view from the terrace with the pool was gorgeous. We had a very good dinner. The rooms are basic but comfortable. Opuwo is a very interesting stop. Real Africa.

“Best option in Opuwo”
Great accommodation in Opuwo, about 30 minutes on foot from the shops and Kaokoland restaurant. The standard rooms are the furthest from the reception and the pool, but nice and with a patio before them. We enjoyed swimming pool and the breakfast the next morning. WiFi is only in the reception/restaurant area.

Loved the location and the aesthetics. Beautiful setting of the restaurant. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable, spacious clean toilet. Balcony facing the sunset. Tour options available at reception. A good peaceful stay after a long drive from wherever you are coming from. Food at the restaurant is not bad and decently priced.

“Good hotel, worth a stay and may well improve”
Good size room with a fabulous complex ceiling structure and a thatched roof. Best pool so far on my travels in Namibia. Food and drink were good but not exceptional. Great views. Assad our guide to the Himba village was excellent. We hesitated about visiting as we thought we might intrude on privacy. However, we had a warm and sincere welcome. It was a worthwhile experience. Good spa massage.
