Spacious, walkable into town (35mins), comfortable, relaxed, the look out platform, views of the harbours and ship yards. An interesting industrial landscape

A nice / clean room. I booked a twin room (a typical Japanese apartment) but later upgraded to a studio apartment. A plenty of parking. A nice view of Onomichi across the ocean.

I really enjoyed my second stay at the sea side hostel light house. Last year I stayed at this hostel to cycle along the Shimanami Kaido. However, it rained the whole day so I vowed I'd return to try again! And what better place to stay than in this quiet corner of Onimichi. The rooms are very large and come with a kitchen, living room, bedroom, toilet and bathroom. Everything was neat, tidy and clean and I really appreciated the complementary water. You get a good view of the bay from the apartment as well. The hosts are very friendly and always happy to ring you a taxi or help you figure out the laundry machine. If I ever return to this corner I'd Japan I would certainly consider staying at the seaside hostel lighthouse again!

Super clean, spacious, great hosts, nice scenic lighthouse very close by and few people (nice and quiet) Note: next to a shipping lane, so there may be some early morning engine sounds, didn't bother me though.

The owner was really friendly and the breakfast was good. The place is really nice and the view over the canal was great. Rooms were quite spacious.

Nice rooms with a great view of the bay. Very good value for money and the man running the hostel was very kind and helpful, always willing to ring us a taxi when we needed one. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely consider staying here again next time I'm in the area.

If you decide to stay in Mukaishima for relaxation or even the shimanami kaido this is the place to be. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful and really goes the extra mile to ensure that the guests are satisfied. It feels like being part of a family. The room is also very spacious with all necessary amenities, all be it with a homely feeling. The outdoor area also has many features including a playground picknick tables and much more. My expectations were certainly surpassed!

I stayed at quite a few places during my 3 weeks in Japan and this was easily one of my favourite. The owners are so nice and friendly, there's some really stunning views and my room was spotless and well equipped for my short stay. I only wish I could have stayed a little longer. Next time, I will.

Fantastic view, very cozy rooms, and a quite accessible location from the main island and to the other nearby islands if you have a car. A full kitchen is also a huge plus! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, relaxing atmosphere/vibe, and plenty of parking.
