the owner and staff were warm and friendly, the owner went out of his way to make me comfortable. I arrived after the restaurant had shut and he made me a bowl of rice even though the kitchen was shut

“Very special surreal dreamlike experience with the best view over the cutest town!”

This is a very special place. Arriving here we were unsure if this is a surreal dream or reality. The owner is the kindest and very charming. The house is somewhat different from what we had seen during our trip through Japan and a refreshing little breakout from the journey. It’s as if someone stopped time 30-40 years ago, you can really imagine the glamour this gem had once been. It’s still comfortable and clean and magical. The view is stunning, Onomichi is such a lovely magical place. We had dinner in the restaurant with this view and enjoyed it a lot. Would always go again! Thank you so much for this special experience!

Beautiful views from our bedroom window over the harbour and Islands. Excellent location, within walking distance of the town and station. Strong hot shower, comfortable bed and a spacious room. Enjoyed a Thai meal at the restaurant cooked by the host.

We had a wonderful stay in Hiroshima. The apartment was comfortable and ideally located. The host was very friendly. There are lots of restaurants in the area. It is a short walk to the Peace museum

“Wonderful view on a hill top”

Wonderful view overlooking Onomichi and the river! You can really see the entire downtown Onomichi and all the harbour activities. Sunrise and sunset is beautiful from the room too. It's a very eclectic hotel and has an old-school charm. The room is well-sized for 2 people and was clean. Bed is comfortable enough.

Very helpful and thoughtful owners. I turned up on a bicycle. It's a hard climb but worth it.

A hotel with a great view of Onomichi. The parking space is limited and tight, so you need to ask the people at the hotel to park your car, but it's no problem. A very friendly hotel manager and workers.

“A wonderful, memorable place!”

This hotel is absolutely spectacular. It should be the setting of Wes Anderson’s next film! Or a kooky novel… If you like places with character and charm and hate anonymous corporate cookie-cutter hotels - then you’ll love staying here. My partner did the bike ride and I camped out here and worked for 2 days. It couldn’t have been more memorable. The rooms are so vintage and homey. The views are brilliant and the walk into town is steep but great. The owners are incredibly kind and the Thai restaurant is yum. What an amazing, eccentric, characterful place…… I will always remember it. Live on….. Onomichi View…. Don’t go changing!

Amazing view with lovely hosts! Our room overlooked the water, which made for a gorgeous sunrise. Overall, a unique hotel with personal Thai cultural touches. We didn't have dinner, but the Japanese breakfast was simple and filling.

“Pleasant for a one night stay if you’re doing the kaido”

Stayed here for one night before doing the Shimanami kaido. Owners were lovely. The place had all the amenities needed for a good nights sleep before getting up early for the bike ride. The views from the bedroom windows are exceptional and look over where we were going the next day. The place is at the top of a big hill with no shops nearby but the hotel has a restaurant (we ate beforehand so didn’t use it ) and vending machines for food items and drinks to make up for this

The location was excellent. The view from the restaurant as well as our room was amazing. The hotel was decorated like a 1970s time capsule. We loved it very much. The food in the restaurant was very nice. The owner was incredibly helpful with our suitcases and assisted us in any questions that we had. We would definitely visit again.
