Our stay at Akachichi Guesthouse was truly one of the highlights of our time in Okinawa. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcome thanks to the warmth and kindness of Komaki and Kenny. They go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels at home, and their personal attention makes all the difference. The guesthouse itself is charming, comfortable, and perfectly located to explore the island. Each morning started with a delicious and thoughtfully prepared breakfast, which added a special touch to our days. What made our experience even more memorable were the many helpful tips and local insights we received — from hidden beaches to scenic routes and great places to eat — allowing us to discover Okinawa in a way we never could have on our own. Everything about our stay, from the accommodation to the atmosphere and the island itself, felt simply fantastic. But above all, it is the genuine hospitality and dedication of Komaki and Kenny that made this experience so special. We leave with wonderful memories and a heartfelt sense of gratitude. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, warm, and unforgettable stay in Okinawa.

Our stay at the Akachichi Guesthouse was the end of our Japan trip and it was amazing! We enjoyed the great and warm hospitality. And we loved the breakfast which was served with a big smile every day. Amazing! The owner of the guesthouse gave us also many recommendations for things we could do and restaurants we could visit. We hope that we can come back as soon as possible!

The guesthouse is very comfortable and cosy and the hosts Kenny and Komaki are truly friendly and helpful providing tips for your stay whenever needed. We felt very welcome. Location is excellent with beautiful beaches and some local restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast was excellent with local ingredients and different every day. We can only recommend this lovely place!

We stayed in Okinawa for the last few days of our Japan trip and we couldn’t recommend the guesthouse more! Kenny and Komaki really went above and beyond for us during our stay. The guesthouse was spotless and such a lovely, comfortable stay overall. Just such an amazing place to stay with such caring hosts! The breakfast was also outstanding; eating outside in the Okinawa heat surrounded by flowers was a highlight of our trip! Although Onna is outside Naha, there was still lots to do in the area - although renting a car is almost a necessity.

The location was very laid back just what we needed after doing all the tourist attractions in Japan. A beach 5-10 min walk away. The facilities were clean and comfortable. The hosts were amazing. Lent us snorkeling gear, booked golf for us, served delicious breakfasts. Very friendly

The guesthouse is such a lovely place. The room is comfortable and spacious, you can walk within 5 minutes to several beaches, the breakfast is authentic and tastes great and the two owners are super friendly and helpful. They made our stay perfect.

Kenny and Komachi are wonderful hosts and made our trip to Okinawa unforgettable! Their friendliness, their passion for hosting, the communication in advance and on site, the fantastic breakfast ... unsurpassable and with a lot of love down to the smallest detail. Wonderful hosts and comfortable accommodation

“A once in a lifetime experience that felt like home.”

Everything exceeded our expectations at Akachichi Guest House. Kenny and Komaki put so much thought into everything to help us feel at home and get a real flavour of beautiful Okinawa; from the books in the room, to the recommendations they had put together and the sweet Okinawan teas in the fridge. Nestled in a quiet little side street, Akachichi is within walking distance of many beaches Okinawa has to offer, and it has serene and peaceful surroundings. The room is so comfortable, clean and spacious - it felt like a home away from home. Kenny and Komaki were such warm and generous hosts who went above and beyond in every way. Nothing was too much for them and we felt so looked after. It made my morning to see Komaki bring us fresh, healthy and stunning breakfasts on the terrace each day (and on Sunday, a gorgeous packed-up food we took down to the beach). This is not just another place to stay - unlike a big hotel with a functional check-in and soul-less buffet, Akachichi Guesthouse really helps you immerse into the culture, meet some wonderful people and leave your troubles at the doorstep. We travelled the whole of Japan for 3 weeks and this was the most memorable and inspiring stay that we will cherish forever. We are so motivated to learn about Okinawa even more after this.
