Overview
Featuring a restaurant and bar, Ongula Village Homestead Lodge is situated alongside an Owambo Village. Guests can try traditional Owambo pottery making and basket weaving, or learn to make local drinks and meals. Each African-style rondavel bungalow comes with a thatched roof and a veranda. The rooms also include tea-and-coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom with a shower. Guests can enjoy traditional, local cuisine at the restaurant, and drinks at the bar. There is also a boma bonfire. The lodge offers day tours to the Nakambale Museum, Ondangwa’s open craft market, and Owambo tribal houses. Ongula Village Homestead Lodge is located 30 km from Ondangwa and 60 km from Lake Oponono. Ondangwa Airport is 37 km away.

“Totally brilliant place on so many levels.”
Everything! Great accommodation and food. Staff could not have been more friendly. There is an emphasis on giving an authentic insight into the traditional way of life and offering hope to local people who can take a whole range of. courses that teach them skills to enable them to make a living. So many interesting things to learn about - loved watching the women making clay pots! They recycle and repurpose so much - chairs from car tyres and decorative shields from steel drums! Traditional menu on offer as well. Amazing place.

“Great experience!”
Very nice staff and owner. Good food, even the traditional food. Good guide who shows us in one day al lot of the surrounding. They have a kind of academy where they teach young people skills to find a job.

A great experience, and a truly wonderful place to stay. On arrival we had a friendly greeting and made to feel welcome and special guests from the start. All the staff and the owners were, curtious, polite, and always helpful. The accommodation, bungalow, was a lovely place to stay, and a special experience and different from the normal hotel we would normally use. The food was fabulous through out our stay and gave us a chance to taste real African top quality food. The tour of the village with our guide Eric, was a educational and enjoyable experience in finding out about traditional Namibian village life. Thank you for all the staff and owners at Ongula village homestead for making our stay so enjoyable. We would love to return and would highly recommend every one to experience a stay at Ongula village homestead. Emily and Jonathan.
