The Guesthouse En was an beautiful stay, one of the highlights of our trips. It was so clean,had all the beautiful traditional Japanese home touches and provided important mod cons. The host was incredible and went out of his way to help us make the most out of our stay. Highly recommend and would go back!

“Charming, peaceful and comfortable home in a lovely area near the lake”

The guesthouse is a fair distance from food outlets, so the bicycles were essential and very much appreciated and used. The house is spotlessly clean, spacious and in a lovely little area on Omi The host is a lovely, warm man who was very helpful, responsive and punctual regarding our transfers to and from the station.

The house is very beautiful, comfy and big. The area is quite and charming. The staff was super nice.

Fantastic authentic spacious japanese style house, built ca. 100 years ago, is located at the outskirts of Omihachiman town, in a very quiet neighbourhood. The house consists of 4 rooms on tatami mats, a kitchen, a toilet, a mini bath with a more spacious shower area, a washing room and an entrance area. Although we did not cook anything in the house, the kitchen was well equipped with various cooking aids and gadgets. A private parking spot ca. 70 meters from the house was also provided for us. The hostess, who speaks good English, was waiting us at the house, explained the usage and gave good tips what to look and where to go to eat. The house also included 4 bikes in somewhat differing sizes for the usage by the guests.

For the price, you get the entire place for your travel group (which is quite big). There are also bicycles available that can be used (really enjoyed biking around near the rice patties)

It was great to stay in a traditional Japanese home, parking was available. Locators excellent if you have a car, we ate at the hosts recommendation which was excellent.

We had this delightful traditional home all to ourselves. It was a classic Japanese style with modern amenities like bathroom and kitchen. A little sun porch overlooked the cute little garden. The communication with our host was excellent ( he spoke English) and he kindly transported us to and from the train station. We made good use of the bicycles provided and really got to explore everywhere from the lake to the city moat that winds through the old town. It was a great place to explore. We stocked up on groceries from a big supermarket a short bike ride away. We stayed 2 nights and loved every minute of it.

A lovely, traditional and comfortable home in a quite village. We really enjoyed walking around and exploring the area by car. A very relaxing place. I loved drinking my morning coffee in the little sunroom.

A whole Japanese house for ourselves with everything you wish! It was lovely and clean! For the check-in we had an appointment with the nice owner. He was there at the agreed time and his explanation in English was clear.

“Memorable stay”

Good experience in an old Japanese house. Nice little garden, listening to the rain with a cup of coffee. The surrounding is very quiet. We get to cook dinner with meat and vegetables bought in a supermarket, something we always want to do in Japan. And it was just great as it was raining the whole day and we cannot do any sightseeing. So we just bought all the meat and vegetables and returned to the house early.
