Excellent location for our needs as we had to be at railway station for 530 am . Restaurant was very good for evening meal . It is literally on the train platform so some people may like to request a room at the back. Gardens wonderful

“Disappointed”
Location is on the rail tracks and makes it very convenient for catching the train. The garden at the back is very pretty. Breakfast is ok, not exceptional in my opinion.

“Very enjoyable stay and highly recommended”
The location is great. It is just within the train station and so easy to catch the train in the morning to Machupicchu. Breakfast is also very good and you can order from the menu too. The staff in the restaurant are friendly and helpful. But the food taste is average and pricy.

“Most memorable stay in Peru”
It was an exceptional hotel and so many points of interest - location on the train platform and I enjoyed train spotting the panoramic trains - organic farm and fresh produce the food was delicious but most of all the staff Wendy and her colleagues in reception Manuel and his restaurant team everyone looked out to help

Warm friendly staff throughout hotel and farm. Room and gardens were beautiful. Breakfasts were delicious and wholesome. Ability to drop into Mayu for lunch, dinner or a drink was a very welcome plus. Panchamanca was an amazing experience, I'm so glad we had time to take part in this Peruvian experience. We couldn't recommend El Albergue more! (Oh and Chaska, the resident dog, was absolutely gorgeous 😊.)

“El Alberque Rocks”
Friendly helpful people. Breakfast awesome. Dinner was very good. The distillery tasting was fun. Bought a few samples to take home. Right along the train station.

Everything! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, the amenities were fantastic, the food was great, the location was amazing - right next to the train station which made it easy to access Machu pichu - and the walk around the farm and roastery and distillery was lovely!

Omar at reception was so helpful as the other reception staff. Meals at the restaurant were so good. Location of the Albergue Hotel was great!

“Lovely, unique spot with great breakfast!”
Really interesting place to stay - within the train station area (you walk out of the reception and onto the platform). The staff were so lovely - Maria (I think that was her name), was absolutely incredible! And truly amazing breakfast! The property itself is also lovely and is all centered around a really nice garden

The location is perfect , the rooms are beautiful and comfortable, including details like slippers, robes and fruit. The beds are A+ and the breakfast is amazing. The restaurant is also great and the staff is super welcoming. The hotel has a vegetable garden and distillery worth visiting.

The best possible location in Ollantaytambo, no need to leave the hotel for restaurant, bar or coffee bar. The hotel building has been beautifully integrated into what I assume was the original railway station. It is has a farm attached as part of an integrated site with a distillery, some outdoor restaurant options and vegetable gardens for the hotel restaurant. If you are going up to Machu Picchu or coming from Cusco the good news is you just step out of the El Albergue and you are on the station and onto the train. Combine superb location with efficient friendly staff, great facilities and a creative conversion of the train station into an excellent hotel and you can’t beat the El Albergue.
