“Decent stay in Olafsvik”

Staff: They communicated very efficiently. Room: The beds were comfortable and the room was really big. Bathroom: The toilet flushed properly and there was always hot water. Location: It was really close to the most important restaurants and gas stations.

No towels, no kettle, one of the bed table lamps not working, very dim lights in the room. There is no light by the windows. Coffee machine broken down in the morning breakfast time....

The breakfast was bare minimal. Compared to the other hotels, it was poor. Coffee machine out of order. Staff were not friendly. The fridge/ the cold storage area smelt.

I will guide you through this hotel because I think it is necessary so I recommend reading before you book. step 1. - if you are lucky and they send you the room code on the day of arrival - congratulations you are one of the few like us! :D we recommend writing to them on both emails for the code and calling them as much as possible !! otherwise they will not give you the code. we helped a few people who thought someone would be at the reception (they told them themselves!) step 2. you are in the room and the code is correct - check the room we had a clump of hair in the bathroom so it's for the brave step 3. breakfast is included but skip it to enjoy your trip to Iceland - in short - everything is expired step 4. when you shower you hold the shower with one hand and with the other you hold the rod they leave there for you to wipe the water to the drain so you don't have water all over the room :D it sounds funny but it wasn't very funny but we managed it.. i have never written such a bad review in my life but it was necessary

No restaurant on site but one across the street Free coffee and water 24/7 Breakfast included was quite adequate Good location and quiet Easy walk to beautiful.waterfall behind hotel and good views of the town, church and rainbow street. Recommend highly The owners were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast location was excellent but the choices were limited. There was ample supply for what appeared to be a low level of bookings at the hotel.

Self check in. Coffee was great. Was opposite a very good restaurant, Sker. Small fishing place. For such a small place, it had a very nice artistic looking church.

Room was near by the elevator, hence everyone who left early has to pass.

run away!!! worse hotel in Iceland. They treat the guests with no respect. There is no reception in the hotel and when you try to contact via the number they informed no one answers.

Nothing the hotel took my booking the same evening that I was supposed to stay and they didn’t send me information about the room and the pin for the room

I was anxious about what our experience would be based on the reviews I had read but given there was but the hotel exceeded our expectations ( travelling with my husband) spotlessly clean, basic but everything you needed was available including a fridge and T&C making facilities . Quiet at night and in an excellent location. you don’t see much of the staff but they are pleasant when you do. check in is a little odd but efficient . the cost was relative to all other hotels in the area - all of Iceland is expensive !
