“Fantastic way to start our trip.”

I would 100% recommend this lodge! The room was very clean and spacious. While there were some insects inside, that’s to be expected when you’re surrounded by nature. The owner, Heiko, was extremely accommodating. We joined the sundowner drive, which was fascinating. Heiko shared fun facts about the animals we encountered along the way. He also cooked and served a delicious dinner and breakfast. Since it was just the start of our two-week trip, Heiko was kind enough to give us some great advice, including which scenic road to take, which offline map app to use, and even some restaurant recommendations in Walvis Bay that we shouldn’t miss. His hospitality made our stay truly memorable.

“a real haven and a great stopping place”

The location is a bit off the beaten track but you know that before you book/go there. We loved the drive and the spotting of a few game animals on the way there. The staff are friendly and the owner (also the chef) is very informative and interesting to talk to. We were the only guests so didn't get to have much social interaction but there is a viewing platform overlooking the dam that is a great place to watch the sunset. And OMG the stars are incredible. no light polution and clear as anything.

Lovely place with a lot of animals to see, comfy rooms, game drive and walking trek. The food is fantastic, one of us is celiac and they adapted wonderfully. Great tips from the host for our trip in Namibia.

“Excellent stay overlooking hippo lake”

The exceptional settings, sitting on our porch with a beer in hand watching the sunset listening to hippos in the lake. The friendly host Heiko cooked some amazing food, and is very knowledgeable about all the animals, we went on a drive with him which was great, saw lots of wildlife including hornbills and other colourful Birdlife. There's a great 6km hike around the grounds we did and sat at a smaller lake watching the wildlife. The room was great, beds comfortable and shower had instant hot water. There was so many birds in the trees in the morning, a photographers dream, and the lookout tower was great for wildlife watching.

We stayed only one night, in a large cottage, with a large, very comfortable bathroom, and a large terrace with a beautiful view. I especially liked the shower, it was the only flexible shower found at the accommodations during this vacation in Namibia. And the breakfast, with the best home-made meat products. Also the dinner was delicious. The whole area is wonderful. Thanks to Heiko for the helpful tips on departure.

Great Host Heiko. We learned about farm life.

Beautiful serene setting. Very spacious and comfortable room. Host was able to accommodate our dietary restrictions in a very short notice, which we appreciated greatly. Food is delicious. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Large room overlooking waterhole (although dry when we visited due to Namibia's drought). Owner is an excellent host who also does the cooking for dinner if requested. Enjoyed some lovely food and a game drive on the farm.

Rooms were spacious and clean and had lovely sitting out veranda. Dinner was lovely and house wine was reasonable and tasty. Breakfast was ok. Hosts were very pleasant anf helpful.

Stunning game farm, did one of the best game drives with the owner Heiko. He is very knowledgeable and told us a lot about nature and Namibia in general. He also cooked dinner which was delicious. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, beautiful views from the room watching the animals roam free. Will visit again soon.

The food was incredible ; all of it was really nicely made homegrown and homemade. The game drive is excellent, Heiko the host clearly knows his stuff and is more than happy to share how the wildlife reserve works - including the impact a dryer or a wetter year may have; how the various animals interact together and more. What he is doing here is really fantastic and a highlight of the trip. The walk around the property was also quite pleasant.

“Get away from it alll”

If you are looking for a rustic place to get away from it all, this is the place to come. The host is always making sure that you are well looked after - the breakfast was good.

A great location with savannah and lake right in front of the lodges. It has various antelope across the open space BUT best of all it has HIPPO & CROCODILE :-) 😁 Our route from Etosha NP to Eindhoek took us to Ovita Wildlife Restcamp. For anyone contemplating going to Etosha direct from the airport I would advise not undertake that long journey as you would be tired from overnight flight travelling. I would certainly recommend that you break up the journey and stop off at Ovita - it’s just over 2 hours away from Windhoek / 2.5 hours from the airport. Take the B1 and then the D2414 (good sandy surface - not too bumpy), rather than go across country.
