“Fantastic.”
A quiet, peaceful island getaway. Fluent English is spoken by the hotel owner and some workers. We were given excellent guidance and maps of the island on arrival, which was VERY useful as the roads are quite narrow at times. We drove, but you can walk to many places. Bicycle (rental available) is also good. Excellent coffee shops can be found with guidance. Breakfast and dinner in the hotel dining room were superb. Japanese style. Coffee also great, and available free all day. Of course, the hospitality is top notch . . . it's Japan. We'll be back.

Really enjoyed my stay at Shimayado Goen, the room was spacious and the facilities were great. It was very clean and the food was good. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful when I had to leave 2 days earlier because of approaching typhoon - not only arranged to refund me through booking.com when I found it difficult to contact them myself, but also drove me to the ferry terminal early in the morning. I feel very grateful and would definitely stay there again!

“Wonderful stay at Ojika”
Warm staff. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Clean and cosy room. Great location, within walking distance from the port on flat land. Bicycle available.

“Great place to stay, but a bit pricey.”
A great place to stay (maybe the only place for non-Japanese tourist to stay!). It was a Japanese room, so not that comfortable for western visitors, but spotless.

“Ojika has been nothing but fabulous. Everyone were friendly.”
We opted for dinner and the food was delicious. The environment made us comfortable and all the staffs were friendly and helpful. We received assistance in renting the bikes to go around as well. Even during the booking process, Shimayado Goen has been very helpful and prompt in response.

“Clean and cosy island inn”
The room was clean, comfortable and private. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good quality electric bikes are available to hire for a small fee. It is an ideal location from which to enjoy the island.
