It's a traditional Japanese home, with futons and a great choice of records. On top of that, there is a piano. A little untuned, but otherwise alright. This was my first time sleeping on a futon, but it was really comfy. The entire house was really near and clean, and had a very retro appearance which made it feel lived in. The location is perfect, close to Odawara Station and a convenience store is just around the corner.

“Be aware”
This is a traditional Japanese house near the train station. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking, with one hot plate and enough pots, pans, dishes etc. There are two toilets, which was nice!

“Charming, outdated but very convenient”
Convenient near Odawara station for shinkansen and going sightseeing in Hakone area. Nice instructions for finding the place and checking in. Warm welcome with tea and snacks. Spacious and anything you need is present (hairdryer, freezer, coffeemachine, cooking supplies, clothes rack, extra bedding and more). There are lots of restaurants in the neighbourhood and station area

The house is spacious for 5 person, it is 2 storey house and equipped with various utilities. The location is good and near to train station, there is a convenient store Lawson right beside the house. We were there during winter and the heater works very well.

It was different from a hotel room. It added a less modern break to our adventure. If we had a few extra days we would have spent more time here relaxing and enjoying the house and immediate surrounds.

“Lovely house, close to train station”
Beautiful house, near to the train station. Great size for a family of 5 with a fully equipped kitchen too. Loved the record collection and sound system as well. The host was great with communication and making sure we were looked after.

It is a real Japanese stay we wee looked for. I will say we had fun how to use between sitting room and sleeping area upstairs and the rest down stairs. We had fun thank you

The host was very accommodating. The beds were very comfortable. The coffee was great. The house is like a little gem. We wish we could have stayed longer.

“Cute, cooky retro house.”
Kooky, characterful old house that is only very short walk from Odawara train station. There is a street of great restaurants and bars just around the corner and a convenience store in adjacent building. The interior is very retro and feels very authentic. Very spacious compared to some of the other places we stayed on this trip.
