“Perfect and suits Odawara well”

Great location. Easy walks to station, castle and fishing port. Old traditional house which was fascinating and well set up for guests. Comfortable bed and hosts were very generous with local advice. Tried the recommended bar which was very cool - a small local community place! Loved our stay in Odawara at Ryokan Plum!

A large, spacious room. A shared kitchen where everything is provided… tea, coffee, a fridge and a microwave. An excellent location, close to the station and the castle. A good base for a trip to Hakone. Close to restaurants and shops.

Comfy double bed. Ok sofa bed for our son. Bright, fine sized room. Shared bathroom. Access to small kitchen. Communcal area. Nice and tiny.

The best place we stayed our entire trip!! We love Plum Ryokan, close to Odawara train station and main buses to Hakone. Staying in the Mikan room was amazing, facilities were great and lovely informative staff. We will be recommending to everyone and we hope we can come back again!

The room was spacious and light. Kitchen and toilet adjacent so like being in your own home. The staff were super friendly and the location was great. Wonderful traditional Japanese experience.

Nice place to stay with plenty of room

The room was big, nice and the tatamis were confortable, there is a kitchen and a terrace.

We loved this place so much ! We had the big family room, the beds were very comfortable, so many things were provided. The staff has been really helpful and lovely. You have tea, coffee for free, you can use the kitchen too. Our bedroom was really beautiful. We highly recommend !

Perfect for our family of 3. Our 13 year old son slept on the sofa bed- all linen was provided. The ryokan is an easy walk from the train station and even closer to a large number of restaurants and cafes. The bed was super comfortable with crisp clean white sheets and every little detail has been thought of- towels, amenities, tea and coffee, and a simple system that allows guests to self reserve a time slot to use the shared bathroom. Riki was super professional and helpful and her communication in English was excellent.

“Perfect Japanese experience in a lovely town”

Beautiful traditional style house with really thoughtful decor design. I wanted to show my kids a real Japanese house experience and Ryokan plum delivered in spades. The beds were very comfy and everyone slept well. We had the Ume family room and this gave us space to spread out a little bit. The Umeyas were amazing hosts.

“Peaceful Japanese experience”

The facilities were clean, and everything you need was provided and prepared upon arrival. We were offered to use traditional Japanese pyjamas for a special experience, and even received a complementary towel with the ryokan logo as a souvenir. It made us feel like the staff really cares to make the experience unique and memorable. It was our first time staying in a ryokan and our room was absolutely beautiful. The futon beds were very comfortable and not too thin. It was spacious enough that we could fit 4 people with 4 big suitcases without it feeling too crowded. Due to the small number of guests at one time it’s not loud- there’s a peaceful atmosphere in the building. It’s relaxing, and we got a glimpse into Japanese culture. I would stay here again, and highly recommend it. If I could I would rate it 12/10.
