“Great stay, kind host”

We had a great stay at Hostel Mixteco. The host, George, was very kind and helpful throughout our visit. It’s a basic hostel, but definitely good value for money. The rooms are simple, yet comfortable. There’s no shared kitchen, but there is a common area where you can grab tea or coffee, along with a refrigerator and a microwave. Most attractions in the city center are just a 10–15 minute walk from the hostel.

Good location, pretty clean and nice rooftop seating area. Okay for a night or two.

We were very welcomed by the staff. The table of complimentary snacks/teas came in very useful & was great to have. They have a small fridge on the top floor to use and it was great to sit on the rooftop.

“Lovely stay with a lovely host”

Everything! There are so many thoughtful touches that make your stay comfortable. In reception there is a table with picky bits like nuts and sweets and medications that you may need where you can help yourself. You also get a free shot of mezcal which we really enjoyed. Jorge was so kind and helpful, he’s such a lovely soul. The room was really comfortable, had a tv and had good wifi and the shared bathrooms were always really clean. We loved the rooftop and the small kitchen was great for making our own breakfast.

“Great value stay in the heart of Oaxaca city.”

This was so far the nicest place I’ve stayed in Mexico. Lots of thought in the design, simple but nicely done. I loved my striped green sheets and yellow bed spread. Loved the tiles in the upstairs bathroom. Really super friendly staff. Nice hot water in the shower. The roof terrace is lovely too. If I hadn’t been alone I would have cooked there. The free tea and coffee in the main hall is a lovely friendly touch that I really appreciated.

Great hostal in the city centre. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Room was big. Hostel was very clean. Nice roof terrace. Small kitchen up on the terrace. Would stay again.

The room was clean and bed was very comfortable. My room had a smart TV. It was very nice to have a selection of tea, one free mescal shot was a very nice touch as well. Hot water on demand for the shower was great. The staff was friendly and it felt homey that an elder was also living there to be taken care of.

The staff, the guests, the location, the cleanliness.. That's about it, eh

Really loved this place! Perfect facilities and very friendly helpful staff. Location is also perfect between Centro and a market with good restaurants. Everything walkable. Hope to come again one day!

Everything went well, good location just a few minute from the city center. lovely roof top terrace. There is everything you need for a few nights stay.

the place is really nice. there is basically everything you need and the staff make you feel welcome. plus in the hall you always have snacks. what i loved the most is their policy against waste. it is written almost everywhere not to waste. something i think is very fair to be reminded to guests.I don't know how their system works, but you could also separate the plastic from the inorganic.

“Great budget option”

Great hostel , 10-15 mins walk from Zocalo. Big terrace and some free snacks. My room had a fan. There were plenty of showers and toilets, so there was no waiting. For those who like cooking, there is no kitchen.
