Nice, colorful and decorated rooms with a nice hangout area and terrace. Quiet location on Oaxaca, there is a nice walk (30min) to the city center. Staff is very helpful and friendly!

Nice house, clean and confortable. Very quiet street and not hard to reach the center or other places with bus. We came later that planed because of some problem we had with transport (highway was blocked) so we came a bit after 22:00. They made an exception and let us in (fortunately!). They have a great PDF with many nice places to visit, or how to go where, and where to eat. We discover thank to this an amazing ethno-vegan restaurant for celebrate our last night in Oaxaca: thanx for this!!

Jasper couldn’t have been more helpful, he gave us great tips that were all spot on and shaped the next part of our stay in Mexico as well as for checking out Oaxaca. The terrace was a great place to chill out. We ended up extending our stay an extra day.

“Magical Oaxaca”
The hosts Mary and Jasper were super friendly and helpful before our arrival and during our stay. The view from the terrace is amazing and since it has a bar, it's the ultimate chill out zone after a day of exploring the beautiful city of Oaxaca which blew us away. The beds were clean and comfortable. We also recommend you participate in the Mezcal tasting at the hotel which was very informative and delicous ;) We also took a foudtour with 'Me encanta Oaxaca' which was also mindblowing. We really fell in love with this city and this hotel (plus the people in it). It's just a few blocks from the centre and we will be coming back here for sure :)

Would highly recommend staying at this hostel. Very easy going, friendly and laid back staff, but at the same time very helpful, accommodating and available as needed. Very clean. We loved the roof terrace!

My partner and I stayed at casa el Munro initially only for 3 nights and extended by 2 more, we could have stayed probably much longer if we had the time. Jasper and Mary were by far the best hosts we have ever had. They gave us all the information we needed to avoid tourist traps and even kept helping us with any questions we had after we left. Our ancestral mezcal tour with Jasper is still by far the high light of our trip in Mexico and we hope to stop by again if we pass Oaxaca on our way back towards the pacific coast! thank you for everything!!
