“A huge, beautifully presented stay in a fantastic location that ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.”
We purposely didn’t research Oamaru before arriving, so this stay was such a pleasant surprise. We booked both apartments for our group for one night, and for many of us it ended up being a highlight of the whole holiday. The apartments are absolutely huge, beautifully presented, and in a fantastic location within walking distance of the Victorian Precinct, great restaurants, breweries, playgrounds, cafes, and the burger shop next door, which was also a highlight.

“Perfect place in the old part of Oamaru, we absolutely loved it.”
The Old Confectionary was the perfect place to stay in Oamaru. The building has been renovated and decorated beautifully and the beds were incredibly comfy. We absolutely loved it and wished we were staying longer. The extra bonus was having Burger, Baby right next door, where we grabbed dinner before going to see the Little Blue Penguins. Amazing burgers and lovely people.

“We loved it!”
We loved the property. The decor was amazing. Very comfortable. We only stayed one night for the penguins. We were able to walk to the colony. Don’t be put off by the run down area.
