Great, spacious room with massive & comfy bed. Very friendly and accommodating owners & staff, enjoyed going for a walk around the property & seeing the old church. Would definitely stay again 😊

Spacious room with great bed and a nice den. The property is nice, we liked the chapel. The history of the place is fascinating. The gardens and the small farm are quite nice. We were able to feed the alpacas and sheep. Also the chocolates were great. Very friendly and attentive staff.

“A perfect place to relax with beautiful grounds, a great, comfortable room and excellent reception.”
Everything was absolutely perfect. Staff, reception, room, quietness and location. The history of the location most interesting to read. The chocolate shop was very interesting to visit as was the chapel.

We stayed for 2 nights. It is the best accommodation I’ve ever stayed in NZ. The architecture was beautiful, the room was clean,comfortable and stuffs were very kind.They have cute alpacas and sheep. We really enjoyed staying there. I hope to visit again.

“This was a very bad experience, and I would not recommend this hotel to others”
This was the worst night of accommodation during our entire trip. After making the reservation, we confirmed with the hotel in advance that two adults and one child were clearly acceptable. However, upon check-in, we discovered that the hotel had changed our room type without our consent. The actual room was significantly smaller than the one we had booked. The wardrobe had been replaced with a makeshift table, and the glass facing the corridor could not be fully covered, allowing light in at night and offering no privacy at all. When we spoke with the manager, he repeatedly emphasized that an extra bed had been added for us, even though we did not need one. He also suggested that we move to a separate building away from the hotel’s main building. For safety reasons, we refused this option. Throughout the entire conversation, the manager never expressed any apology and was unable to provide the original room type we had booked. This experience left us extremely dissatisfied and had a serious negative impact on our trip.

“Absolutely gorgeous setting and helpful receptionists”
Beautiful spot and the room we stayed was suuuuper spacious. The reception was super friendly and kind. One of the girls even went above to find me a toothpaste late night as I forgot mine. They also opened the chapel for us to have a look. Absolutely stunning, will definitely come back!

“A beautiful place to relax, refresh and realise what a beautiful part of the country it is.”
This is a gem. Such an amazing history and he staff go out of their way to show off the property including the amazing chapel on site which is literally like being transported to Italy or France. And don’t start me on the beautiful chocolates made on site and provided in the rooms on arrival

“Comfortable and beautifully situated.”
Loved the grounds - beautiful to walk around. The history was well documented, and we loved the church (although we couldn’t enter as it was locked) Room was spacious. We were given an upgrade to garden view for which we were grateful. Lady at the desk was very welcoming. Comfy beds and good shower
