The best location to Yosemite National Park. Center to resurants and Main Street. It’s a bit cold in winter. Can request for extra blankets.

We could check-in not much before midnight, the staff was really friendly. The "surprise breakfast" is definetely a good idea. 🙂 We liked the environment as well, we were sad that we stayed only one night.

The staff was really kind and friendly. The room was always clean and everything was very good value for the money.

“Cockroaches in the room”

I stayed for one night and found two dead cockroaches on the floor of my room. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel that charges a $100 deposit “in case the guest causes damage.” The irony is that the hotel cannot even guarantee a clean, pest-free room for paying customers. When I mentioned the issue at reception, the staff dismissed it by saying that this is “nature” and “normal in California.” This response is shocking – cockroaches are not “nature,” they are a sign of poor hygiene and pest control. No apology, no compensation, nothing offered. Keeping food in the car and bags closed in the room should not be necessary in a hotel. I would not recommend this place to anyone who values cleanliness, hygiene, or basic hospitality standards.

“A convenient place to stay to see Yosemite park”

Oakhurst lodge was a very convenient place to stay for Yosemite. It was as described and shown in the photos, and the breakfast was included in the room rate which was a nice surprise. The aircon was very much welcome as we were there during a heat wave.

The location of this property was excellent if you plan to go to Yosemite. Very clean and the staff very helpful.

Having just retired from Property management of a 14 story resort complex in Australia, I was horrified at the maintenance state of the two units that I witnessed. On arrival and entry to unit nine, the toilet was used and on flushing, Water came out from under the toilet bowl and across the floor. A second flush, and raw sewage was seen in the water that continued to come out across the floor. While washing hands after the toilet use, the tap was totally detached from the vanity unit and just floating around, which involved using two hands to hold the tap and wash your hands at the same time. The cabinet containing the bar fridge, had it back totally off and was very insecure. I went to the reception and reported these concerns and was given another Unit number 8. The lady manager did not seem interested in expecting the concerns and blamed it on recent guests. On going into unit 8, I was quickly aware of multiple faults in the unit. Again, the vanity tap was not secured to the bowl and just floated around. The Unit door would not close properly, as the hinges had dropped to the point of the door not closing into the jam. To close the door, it had to be slammed Forcing it to close, or lift it up to put into position. On closing the curtains for privacy to the outside was difficult, because most curtain rings were detached from the curtain material, causing them to grab on the rail. A short or elderly person would have a lot of trouble closing the curtain for privacy. As with the other unit, unit 8, The fridge cabinet was also damaged and insecure. The writing table was broken in all leg joints, causing it to rock around and it time it would collapse without repair. There were other issues of concern as well, but I was tired from a long day of Travel and accepted that I would discuss it with the management in the morning. I did not expect a second room of poor state of repair and I only took photos relating to the second room. Photos will be attached.

Convenient location 1 hour away from the south entrance of Yosemite National Park. Big supermarket and lots of restaurants nearby. We recommend El Cid Mexican Cuisine. It was great! The hotel receptionist (I didn’t get her name) gave us advice about driving in the snow as we didn’t have snow chains and a severe weather advisory for snow was issued. Luckily we could still go to Yosemite without any problems. A simple daily breakfast was provided and this was not mentioned in the hotel description. It was a pleasant surprise.

Great value for money compared to other accommodation options in the area.
