Property adverised as to pay at the property but they called me and asked a payment in advance. If they want a payment they should not advertise as pay at the property.

“Outstandingly friendly and helpful hosts”

Great communication with Ruka prior to our arrival - he speaks, and writes, excellent English. We had to change our dates due to illness and he was extremely helpful and understanding with all of this. Comfortable accommodation with lovely views. Delicious breakfast included, and dinner available with a couple of hours notice. Location is high up on a hill but easy to get tuk tuks if required. Ruka and his family are exceptionally warm and welcoming and eager to help you with any aspect of your stay. He had originally arranged for us to take the train to Ella and return by car; however my daughter was not well enough so instead he took us on a 4 hour drive to the west of the town with amazing views of waterfalls and tea plantations - just so beautiful and relaxing! He also arranged our onward travel (car and driver) to Kandy with a couple of stops en route. We really appreciated his friendliness and flexibility, and highly recommend staying at Travellers Rest.

We had a wonderful stay at Travellers Nest Inn. The breakfast was delicious, and the dinner was absolutely amazing , we enjoyed a traditional rice and curry prepared by the mother of the family, and it was one of the best meals we’ve had. The hospitality of the family was truly heartwarming and made us feel very comfortable throughout our stay. The room and bathroom were clean and well maintained. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy experience!

“Friendly accommodation. 10 minutes walk into town”

Family run accommodation. Very helpful and organised taxi for us. Arrived late and ate meal there which was lovely. It’s at top of a hill so peaceful and good views

Very friendly family run guesthouse. All staff extremely welcoming and couldn’t be more helpful. They arranged transport to catch train to Ella and provided us with early breakfast. The owner’s son stayed with us at the station to ensure we had our ticket and best seat on the train. Breakfast was authentic and we also had dinner one evening which was very good. Great location out of town in the hills - 20 minute walk to centre. Excellent value for money.Would stay again.

“Helpful family and great food.”

The family was superb, so friendly and food was great. We left the property very early in the morning to catch the train, we had take away breakfast and what a breakfast!!! We loved it!!!! THANK YOU!!!
