“Best place to stay in Nuwara Eliya”

Staying here really makes you feel like being a part of the family. Starting from the warm hugs as a greeting from the aunty to the best food we had on our trip and great recommendations for a guide to take us around the tea plantations and surroundings we could not have been happier staying here.

“Love cottages with amazing view!”

I loved how spacious the cottages was, but cosy at the same time. The balcony and the view is amazing and if you set an early alarm you will have a pretty sunrise. Moreover the hosts are very kind and helpfull I would have loved to stay here longer to be able to do a hike they suggested! Also they helped me out with fixing my transport to my next destination. Both the dinner and breakfast were lovely, I felt very at home! Thankyou!!

“THE BEST”

Sincere wilderness was sincerely one of the best places I have stayed in my 4 months in Sri Lanka (I extend my booking twice). The rooms are super cozy and comfortable, the view from the balcony over Nuwara Eliya is amazing. Aunty grace cooks the best Sri Lankan food you will have, I tried soo many new different dishes over my stay. Uncle Lal is a brilliant man full of wisdom, I had learned an abundance about Sri Lanka’s nature, history and culture, if you have the blessing to do a hike with him you should! He’s knowledge on botany is vast and inspiring. Romeni is the best host, she will ensure you have an amazing time and help you with whatever needs be. Seems like best place in Nuwara eliya as we can have a great view of almost all the city from the room top. Great hospitality, great food.

“Excellent”

A gorgeous home stay with stunning views, warm and cosy and a comfortable bed. Romeni was so friendly and welcoming explaining the easy walking route to the town. We had a delicious Sri Lankan curry for dinner prepared by Romeni and her mum. We wish we could have stayed longer

“Amazing”

We loved everything about our stay at Sincere Wilderness! The room was very comfortable - it got cold at night but we were given many blankets and a hot water bottle. Romeni and her family were so welcoming. We had dinner in their kitchen on both nights of our stay which was so delicious! The hike with Romeni’s dad was the highlight of our trip!!

Accommodation is excellent, located above the town with a beautiful view, in a very quiet area. Together with the owner’s father, we went on a three-hour hike through the misty forest and tea plantations. We walked 11 kilometers with an elevation gain of 450 meters – it was amazing. Breakfast was excellent, enjoyed in a warm family atmosphere. We highly recommend this place.

We felt like home. The family is incredibly hospitable and we loved our guided hike. We also fell in love with Toby, their dog. Amazing stay and we really appreciated all the blankets ;)

“Very lovely”

We had a lovely stay at sincere wilderness! It was a very cosy and homely property and Romeni was extremely hospitable. The property is a little outside of the center which meant for a bit of a walk but the views from the balcony definitely make that worth it. We were given a delicious breakfast the next day.

“Great home stay run by a great family”

This was our second visit. The family who own the home stay go out of their way to make you welcome nothing is too much trouble including helping us resolve our visa extension. The food is great super fresh and varied we had all our evening meals there. The rooms are clean , hot water and even a hot water bottle for the cold nights. The view is great and one room has a balcony. We would recommend going on a guided walk with the owner well worth the money.

“Lovely Place, friendly hosts, delicious food”

We had a truly wonderful stay with this super friendly, warm-hearted, helpful, and genuinely lovely family. The homestay is simple but fully functional, nicely decorated, and very clean. We especially loved the great selection of books available to read. Small comforts made a big difference: a hot-water bottle for day and night, five thick blankets, a kettle in the room, and tea and sugar always available. Drinking water was provided for free with every meal. Breakfast was delicious and varied every day. Our absolute highlight was the egg hopper – if you have the chance, definitely ask for it! There was unlimited tea in the morning, and getting seconds at breakfast or dinner was never a problem. The hosts always made sure we left the table completely full and happy. Dinner was fantastic every single evening – authentic Sri Lankan dishes, always different and always delicious. Often it even came with dessert; our favourite was the rhubarb compote with pudding. Again, seconds were offered at every meal at no extra cost. Dinner was charged at 1,500 rupees per person, which we found very fair. Watching the food being prepared in the kitchen was a wonderful experience in itself, and the host’s information about Yala and Sri Lanka in general was incredibly helpful. We want to say thank you for an amazing stay during the cyclone. Thanks to your help and support, we always felt safe, even without electricity, water, or internet. Stay healthy, and all the best! Everyone at Sincere were helpful & pleasant whether it be giving advice or providing breakfast or dinner in this simple Homestay. The room was adequate & met expectations & we had a wonderful view down a valley towards town. Town was about a 15 minute walk downhill.

“Fabulous stay with such a sweet family”

The cottage was really cute and comfortable. Fresh flowers gave us "a feel like home vibe". The family was really nice! Prepared the best curry ever and gave us a warm water jug for the night.
